What starts out as a relatively cordial conversation turns extremely uncomfortable as Lt. Kaffee (Tom Cruise) and Lt. Commander Galloway (Demi Moore) ask Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson) the hard-hitting questions.

As a Marine who served back in the day, I must tell you that all of these actors did outstanding jobs portraying Navy and Marine personnel... Jack Nicholson however; played the part of a hard core Marine Colonel with 100% conviction!! He is the ultimate character actor!!

Jack hasn’t acted in over 10 years but this last NBA season he was at a home Lakers game in his usual court side seat, his pic went up on the big screen and the whole crowd gave him a big ovation. I’m so glad that he was able to enjoy that.

If that isn’t one of the top 10 most intense scenes in cinematic history, I don’t know what is. Jack Nicholson’s acting was nothing short of masterful. The tension is palpable.

Not a huge fan of law or military subject matter movies. But every time I see one random scene from this movie, I have to watch the whole movie again.
