I enjoy hearing how the lines in the trailer are different takes than what was in the final release. Even the iconic “I want the truth!” And “you can’t handle the truth!” were delivered differently in the final cut.

We used to go see all of Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson movies at the theaters back them you sure wasn't going to be bored that's for sure My kids was kinda young teenagers back then and they love the hell outta these movies...Plus Al Pacino these guys was middle age and was at there best acting ...Block Buster video stores was open back then....Fun Times😁☺

Great movie. Better than Unforgiven. The second half of it was better than the first half. Nicholson is exposed as a nut when he gets angry in the courtroom. I think so anyway.

The Authority
Gunn described the Authority as a team who thinks "the world is completely broken. And the only way to fix it is to take things into their own hands, whether that means killing people, destroying heads of state, changing governments, you know, whatever they want to do to make the world better". Safran compared the morally complex team to Jack Nicholson's character in A Few Good Men (1992).

When Gunn and Safran unveiled the first projects from their DCU slate in January 2023, they included a film based on the superhero team the Authority, which was created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch for the independent comic book publisher WildStorm. WildStorm was acquired by DC Comics and its characters, including the Authority, were introduced to the DC Comics continuity in 2011. Similarly, Gunn and Safran intended to include WildStorm's characters in their own DC Universe continuity, starting with the Authority. Gunn said the film was a passion project of his and that he had been working on an outline for it with the other DC Studios writers.

Gunn said the film would have connections to Superman.

It was always a thing, people. Showing you what to expect and the basic plot outline has always been the objective of most full length trailers. The idea isn't to yell "spoilers! spoilers!" and cover your ears, it's to see how the story plays out.
