Google Nexus 7 (2013) Review

Показать описание
When it was introduced last year, the Google Nexus 7 came out of nowhere and shook up the market in more ways than one, to reign supreme in the (budget) Android market. Not only were people impressed by the uber low price point on the Nexus 7, but it was also packing some admirable hardware under the hood to give every dollar attached to it some much-needed justification. One year later, we're seeing its successor in the 2013 model of the Google Nexus 7 -- something that continues the line's affordable price point, while naturally receiving all of the improvements we'd expect to find...

Watching this review right now on my 2nd gen Nexus 7... I'm simply blown away at the build quality, hardware and the performance of this tablet! 10/10... And anyone who compares this to the iPad Mini just needs to stop.. There is no contest as I own both. I love the Apple Store and apps, but there is nothing I cannot find in the Google Play store that provides an enjoyable experience. Simply a joy to hold

You can have a higher PPI but not the highest resolution. John is correct in his statement.

It has video out via slimport. Also the 3.5 mm slot is upgraded to support things like Square or PayPal. I'm surprised that these details were missing from an otherwise thorough review.

I think the Nexus 7 is a very complete tablet, seems to have all of the modern features of any other tablet in it's range. The only problem I have with it is 7 inch display. I don't understand why Google didn't make an 8 inch tablet since that seems to be the newest and, in my opinion, the best form factor for a tablet. Like the iPad Mini or not, one thing Apple did, is show us that the 8 inch form factor is the way to go. My favorite tablet right now is the Samsung Galaxy tab 3 8.0.

Shall I get this in April or shall I save my money and wait for the new Nexus 7 or the rumored Nexus 8? I do believe that 8" screens are the sweet spot for tablets and Google always manages to pack so much power in such a cheap device. So shall I buy this or the next generation tablet? Rumored release dates would be nice please :D. Thanks in advance :)

Only negative I can really think of is the lack of external memory. For someone who likes the Samsung Galaxy Tab series, microSD support for the Nexus 7 would be a huge help. This tablet is otherwise state-of-the-art and top-tier for anyone wanting a 7-inch tablet. I don't own any tablet PC of any kind, but it is hard to discredit the Nexus 7 and its capabilities other than for a lack of external memory.

It does have video out. Google SlimPort HDMI Adapter. These work with this tablet.

Exactly. He quoted "Resolution" not PPI. That's just the Nexus 7's advantage of being smaller.

I like the bezels on the top and bottom so in landscape my thumbs rest there, but I agree the sides can be a little narrower.

You can buy a micro usb to hdmi adapter for a few bucks :) also you can use a OTG cable to connect a harddrive/card reader to it.
