I can't believe people watched this and didn't know it was a musical....like from the first 5 seconds I could tell from the classic musical lead up into a song. The people who were surprised it was a musical aren't paying attention.
Plus the movie is based of the Broadway production that was made in 2017. Not the movie from 2004, do your research.

i’m confused with some of the comments here. you guys do realize that this is not a remake of the original mean girls right? this is a movie adaptation of the mean girls broadway musical. i do agree that they should have aimed their marketing towards musical theater fans and i think it would’ve done better but a lot of these comments are saying things like “why did they have to make it a musical” or “this movie doesn’t need a remake”. it’s a musical because it’s a movie adaptation of a broadway musical, it was never a remake of the original Mean Girls.
