It didn’t even occur to me that the nether portal thing was a bug until this moment

Thing about beds - previously you would have to spend 3 dye to make 3 colored wool to get a colored bed. Now it's more cost effective to make a white bed, and use 1 dye to color it.

I like how they've been tackling ancient bugs recently, at this point it's kind of like adding a new feature

The dye update was so needed. No more stuck in survival without a bed because you have 2 black wool, 2 white wool, and 1 grey wool.

Its only been 14 years since game's release, glad to see this small indie game finally getting an update

1.19.4 and 1.20 have had so many “low key but actually huge” quality of life fixes. 1.20 honestly feels like a quality of life update as much as anything. Let us not forget the editable signs!

too be fair it kinda made sense that staying in the portal would keep it going

I feel like a better implementation to the whole re-dye thing is just to make all dyable items washable in cauldrons. That way, you add some parity, make cauldrons way more useful and have it as a good tidbit of knowledge for more experienced players too, all in one fell swoop.

Being able to dye white carpets is actually huge though

Honestly I always thought the portal animation was intentional.

Fun fact! This is (was) the 5th oldest outstanding bug period!

The only older ones are MC-4, MC-14, MC-63 and MC-67. Everything else before MC-180 was either fixed or has been decided to ignore.

My first reaction when watching this video:

"Wait... that's VISUAL?"

Honestly this entire time I thought if you didn't leave a portal quickly enough it would send you back!

How am I only learning about this now??

Thought the animation was an actual feature but glad that they've been working on ancient bugs

When I saw the thumbnail I thought we'd need to start having corners in our portals

now I don’t have to throw up every time I get portal trapped

Won’t all those wool recipes technically count as completely separate recipes? That might make randomized crafting challenges a bit different, I wonder how that’ll play out

It would be funny if combining two types of wool makes a combination of those colours, e.g. red + yellow would be orange wool

Wait, that was a bug? Looks weird though.

Finally! I can make my red beds much easier now! (I still only make red beds...)

It does look super strange being in the portal but not having the effect. It's almost feels like the portal is broken except for the particle effects. Either way I still welcome this change

They should replace the Animation Bug with an intentional effect, maybe something like “Portal Sickness” thats like a light nausea with some purple particles over your vision that lasts like 3-5 seconds. That way you can still see, but the effect isnt lost

I deadass thought this was a normal thing bc of how long it’s been around. It makes total sense to be there considering you are still in the portal. The view it provides is nice, but it does take away from the feeling the portal created

1:51 In fact, what you're describing next is an even older bug
(MC-11) Colored wool can't be redyed (24/Oct/12 4:31 PM)
