Great advice. One quesion though:
Do you thumb/wrist flick with your guide hand in your hangtime overhand layups? I find that I do for the extra power when I'm shooting on the way down.

I respect the textbook definition of the guide hand not interfering. However, there IS evidence that the offhand thumb flick may aid in power and directional consistency.

i still have a problem with my guide hand tho. It doesnt come off in time and its like it becomes a whole hand flick instead of thumb flick, which messes up my shot completely. any tips?

Any drills for perfecting release timing? Or any tips? I have been having issues lately with timing my jumpshot, since I didn't play basketball beacuse of an injury. I've tried different "set points" and switched around 1 and 2 motion, and 2 motion doesn't feel comfortable. I'd appreciate help, since there's really no videos talking about this.
