Linh, I'm so glad that I found this video! I have a thermal cinching machine, but I haven't used it for a while because the pages didn't stay in like they should. I think the way you're doing it will make a big difference. Gluing the paper stack onto the thinner paper first makes so much sense. Otherwise, there's too much stress on the pages. Looking inside a regular hard backed book, you can see the same thing done. Plus, there's a nice finish inside the book.

This is a helpful method. It’s why I don’t prefer this method of binding for a journal. Thank you for all the research on how to create a more flat binding with the thermal cinch!
