Quick Tip: What's In Caleb's Range Bag?

I'm Caleb from Brownells. In today's video, we're venturing into the contents of my range bag. The inspiration for this peek came from your curiosity, sparked by a previous video featuring Steve's range bag. So, let's jump right into it!

Range Bag Overview:
Unlike Steve, who rocks a Brownells range bag, I've opted for a Savor Equipment Range Bag. I've been a fan of Savor Equipment well before it hit the shelves at Brownells, which speaks volumes about their quality.

#Essentials Packed:#

#Tools:# A must-have in my role. The Brownells Magna-Tip Set is essential for any adjustments or quick fixes.

#Training Aids:# I include a shot timer to not just measure but enhance shooting skills.

#Magpul DAKA Case:# Contains Allen wrenches, torx bits, and punches. Because you never know when your gun demands attention.

#Hair Product:# Yes, you read that right. Looking good is non-negotiable, hence the Baron balm by Lox & Company.

#Safety Gear:#

-Extra Eye and Ear Protection: I always carry spares for myself or anyone in need.

-Disposable Earpro: As a volunteer assistant coach, it's all about being prepared for the youngsters.

-D Wipes: For lead removal from hands. Safety is paramount.

#Firearm Transport:#

-Pistol Pouches: For safely transporting firearms, ensuring they're protected amidst other contents.

#Backup Medical Kit:# While my primary kit is on my belt, the range bag holds a backup, ensuring preparedness for any scenario.

The bag's design is meticulous, with a sturdy construction, customizable divider, and a padded shoulder strap for comfort and versatility.

That's a wrap on the contents of my range bag. It's all about ensuring a productive, safe, and, dare I say, stylish day at the range.

THANK YOU for volunteering to coach kids at a club. I was able to shoot in a 4H club for many years. My shooting coach is one of my heroes. Again, thanks.

Thank you for sharing! Pretty much all the stuff I carry in my range bag. I throw in 2sets of AA and AAA batteries for ear pro (mine always seem to run out at the range as well as my buddies). I also pack either clear packing tape (for indoor ranges) or a staple gun (for outdoor ranges) to post up targets (for putting smaller home printed targets over the full size store bought targets because I’m cheap). Also, spot on with the Sharpies, someone always “borrows” one so I keep multiple ones in my bag.

I just learned about D wipes; Lead Exposure is my Priority concern, thanks!

In my 80s Plano tackle box I keep surefire ear plugs, a bunch of lithium batteries, chamber flags, boxes of ammo, an iFixit kit, an adjustable wrench, an LTT screwdriver, gloves, eye pro, and a suppressor mitten.

Extra batteries for ear pro, optics, chronograph, etc. (AA, AAA, 9V, CR2032)
Stapler and extra staples
Log book
Roll of masking tape for repairing the beige paper targets
Can of spray paint (if you're shooting steel at an outdoor range)
Spotting scope (if you're shooting longer distances)
An empty plastic bag for when the guy at the next table is shooting .338 Lapua (or some other expensive cartridge) and isn't going to save his brass.

Thanks for the show and tell Caleb. I just had a Devine Vision telling me that a new Range Bag will come into my life in the very near future.
I was an Alberto VO5 man once decades ago but riding drag on a herd of Cattle in the high desert of the Great Basin dust and sand turned it into a grinding compound which could be used to get rust off an axe. However it did several jobs like rubbing into dried leather, greasing gun actions and as a balm on cut or cracked hands. It was just a phase I went through in the 80's.

The manliest man at the range! Uses up a whole cannister of D-wipes every trip :)

I now know which range setup to use. The council of Calebs approves of this range bag setup.

I always keep some Remoil or CLP in my range bag. A rag for quick cleanup is essential. A lens cleaning cloth is very helpful. Some optics come with a small FAQ card and those go in there. A 1911 bushing tool plus moon clips and a moonclip tool. I confess to carrying a Maglula - the Sig P365 is a very difficult eater. Sturdy ziplock bags for spent cases. Oh and chamber flags - someone else mentioned that but I see them as an essential courtesy to other shooters.

I have one smaller bag with all of the above plus handguns, if any, ear protection etc. Then I have a much larger bag for shooting a rifle off the bench with a front rest, rear bag, spotting scope and mount (the kind that clamps to the table is great), rifle magazines, etc. It is a big, heavy beast but usually doesn’t have to go far.

I always bring tools for just in case, but because I don't expect to need them, they stay behind the seat of the truck, not in my range bag. It's less weight to carry, or more room for ammo. I keep spare ear pro in my bag, as well as an extra set in each of my rifle cases, in case anyone forgets, or for unexpected "spectators". I keep a ball of twine, about a dozen wooden clothespins, and a staple gun for hanging targets. My primary eye and ear protection, a MagLula fo 9mm magazines, one for AR mags, and one for AK mags. A shirt pocket sized notebook, 3 pencils, 2 pens, and a retractable blade utility knife. A basic field first aid kit, because the marines teach you that your belt and boot laces are tourniquets. 2 bottles of water [always, no matter what the temp]. One of those booster/recharger things, in case I run out of phone battery. It doesn’t seem like much when it's in there, but wow, it's a lot when you take it out and inventory it.😂

My range bag is pretty simple. 2 sets of earpro, eyepro, gloves, simple tools like sight tools and magloader, first aid kit, ballistol wipes, targets and a container of grease. I usually put the ammo I'm taking in as well and sometimes a handgun or 2.

Very nice! Thanks, Caleb! 😊 I also like to take a staple gun with extra staples, some target clamps, and a roll of target pasters. If I’ll be shooting a rifle, I’ll also carry a small rifle rest, but otherwise I leave it out because it’s heavy. I also find it helpful to have a small notebook, pen, and pencil with eraser, whether in the bag or in a pocket organizer.

That looks like the perfect sized, overall range bag. The price ain’t bad either! BTW….You can keep that big container of D Wipes at home and put 10-20 in a ziplock and store it in the end pocket. That way you’ll have room for stuff like Lula Loaders, suppressor tools, Ballistol, lube oil….

Great video. I always keep a tourniquet in mine. I'd hate to need it, but you never know.

Interesting. A little different from what I normally keep in my bag but pretty similar. I have a smaller selection of tools because it's just mostly for tightening something that may have come lose, adjusting zero, or putting on an accessory. I don't normally keep lead wipes on me because my normal range is indoors and has D-lead soap there, but I do have a carton I take when I go to the outdoor range. I keep a small spotting scope for checking shot placement in mine. I also keep a lot of targets in mine because I mostly shoot printer paper targets because I'm cheap haha. So I have a binder with printer paper targets and a variety of stick on orange/green dots. I keep a flashlight and a 3 piece cleaning rod in case I need to clear a stuck case or round or something(maybe you had one and I didn't see it.) Oh yeah reading other comments, I do keep some paper for sticking targets too, and some binder clips. Batteries and some shooting gloves as well. Ahh yes magloader too, and a small lube bottle. I have a piece of old tshirt I use as a rag in there haha!

I keep a small, sturdy, bottle of water and a small hand towel in a Ziploc. Not for drinking but for eye wash, saves looking for a nasty hose with some irritant in my eye(sand, cleaner, etc.) often from simply transfer from dirty fingers.
