Headlight Switch/Dimmer Replacement 2011 Chevy Traverse

This is a fairly easy project that I think any do it yourselfer can do in 30 minutes or even less. Hope this video helps.

I just fixed my wife's 2011 Traverse LT. The dash lights were so dim during the day we could barely drive it. The dimmer switch was working. Just could not get the dash lights bright enough to be usable. I tried black tape over the old ambient light sensor to trick it. That worked for awhile but the dash lights kept getting over darker over a few weeks. Replaced the Ambient Light Sensor on the dash with a TechSmart T37005, $38. It fit perfectly, but then my center dash info system ( shows gear, odometer, tire pressure, oil life ) went blank. Also the dimmer switch would not make the dash lights dim. I removed the negative battery cable that attached to the ground of the car. This is located between the passenger seat and 2nd row passenger seat below the floor mat. Waited a minute then reconnected the ground. Everything works now. There are videos on YouTube that show how to replace the ambient light sensor. It's not that hard but will take a solid hour or so once you have the part and the tools. Originally AutoZone sold me a AC Delco sensor for $12, but it wasn't a match. They were very nice and gave me a refund. It helps to bring in the old sensor to match the pins on the new one.

maybe how to install the switch is not big deal. what i wanted to see is how to remove the dashboard cover but you did not show that!
