When he's crouching and then he gets up and starts doing a walk like a "sneaky cartoon hunter" type of thing, that's a whole new level of pshyco, if this was me in real life i would of died right there from a heart attack

Moral of the story: *do not go on a walk at 2 am like a lunatic.*

“He didn’t look drunk. He didn’t look high. He looked completely fucking insane.” Well they certainly nailed that aspect of the story.

Watching it 9 years later, it's still better than most full length horror movies.

The creepy part of this for me is the fact that you wouldn't really be prepared for anything like this. I feel like I would just freeze up, because it's such a bizarre situation.

The guy who played The Smiling Man absolutely NAILED the role

You know it’s a good film when the actor looks down but you want him to hurry to look back up to make sure he’s safe.

Imagine the guy running at you, and out of panic you run full speed back at him, then both of you just face plant into eachothers faces.

The part that makes this scary for me is the fact that the smiling man never directly looks at the main character until the end either. He stares at something vaguely above him. For the entire video, you’re waiting for him to lock eyes with the MC or even us (the audience), but his face is just tilted slightly out of reach. It adds to the horror aspect, since a lot of the time, the “monster” in these horror stories usually stares directly at the viewer to make *us* feel like we’re in a helpless situation with the MC. But in this, we kind of want the smiling man to just look at us so we can see some form of humanity within him. But the moment he does, you can’t make out any details on his face because it’s shielded by that manic smile and the lighting. It gives you more of the illusion that the smiling man isn’t a “man”, and more of just a thing that’s pretending to be a man but doesn’t look quite right.

The younger guy smiles back and they forged a great friendship. They were each other's best man at their weddings. I saw them at the hockey game tonight and had a nice chat with them. Good couple of dudes.
