Voyager 1 Experiences Three 'Tsunami Waves' in Interstellar Space

Показать описание
The Voyager 1 spacecraft has experienced three "tsunami waves" in interstellar space. This kind of wave occurs as a result of a coronal mass ejection erupting from the sun. The most recent tsunami wave that Voyager experienced began in February 2014, and may still be going. Listen to how these waves cause surrounding ionized matter to ring like a bell.

Astonishing that it is still out there collecting data.

After 37 years, with only a 250 KHz CPU and 68kB of memory, Voyager 1 is still helping us learn about our universe! To put that into perspective, your smart phone processes instructions nearly 2 million times faster than Voyager!

that last one was huge! so much power even 19 billion km away.

I know with NASA'S budget, it'd be difficult, but I think it would be awesome to have another Voyager mission. Since Voyager 2, we have learned so much about batteries and instruments that we could learn so much more about our place in the universe.

There's a mid-frequency audible blip ca 2013#0 [0:32.5] that is not part of the 1st event's indicated monotonic rise.

By the time dear Voyager is discovered, Humans will be ancient lost civilization that nobody even knew existed...

We are literally like the baby turtles hatching in the sand on the beach, just catching their first glimpse of the world when they start to march to the sea.  We have so much to learn about all of Creation!  I know we are just getting started but I'm so glad I have witnessed some great discoveries about the Universe myself.

Interesting but how do you know if the plasma waves have the size of a Tsunami.

Are you sure that this sound is from our sun, or could it be from other galaxies (suns) throwing their plasmatic waves thru the universe???

I want to ask a question. If we Built A Voyager at present time with present modern science and technology. Then What would be the Differences Between the Old and new voyager ? Because I m very curious to know . As I know the Creators and scientists of Original Voyager were ahead of their time . And still now looking upon this 47 year's Old Science Marvel I always get Amazed

What does this data mean concerning the sun? When the coronal mass whas ejected and how long does it take to aproach Voyager 1?

I once had a like five cd set of Voyager sounds of the Solar system; but, they got stolen right when I got out of the Navy.  I've never been able to find those on amazon . . . !
