MAANG companies are fine but the rest of the tech world really needs to change how they do interviews. There is more to a complete software engineer than solving leetcode questions.

Probably because even small/medium-sized company is flooded with CVs so they need an effective method to filter them out, otherwise they would remove the code interview to decrease the difficulty since most developer hates it. SE jobs market is really saturated!

Interviews to me are more trivia than actual interviews, it's stupid to ask people things they can google in 3 seconds and that don't matter to the actual job

probelm of asking project related questions is people are good at BS. How do you judge a developers ability without asking a coding question. I hate it but thats reality.

Dude, there is a reason behind asking algorithms, you need to research more on the subject and you will understand why. Good luck!
