It's been 3 years in the IT industry, I haven't seen any problem in my life in which we have to implement the competitive programming skills, So in my opinion asking about the DSA and CP for filtering out the candidate is rubbish, System Design is the one thing which will make the impact I think.

The title reminds me of a video Ben Awad made a while back with the exact same phrase 🤔

It is so true what you have mentioned about the company hiring process and about the DSA part. I had been looking for job from jan to sep month for frontend Job. There were few companies who had requested me to do a demo in front end and few company who had told me to solve DSA problem ( I did not had problem solving them as i have done masters in computer applications. I know all these algorithms and where & how to implement in the problems). But main Factor is when we are hiring for front end the major focus should be on the UI & Design part as you have mentioned Mehul.

I choose the second option very early and politely denied many interviews because of DSA which I have not used in real projects. Basic understanding of DSA is good but at competitive level is only worth if you are into that . DSA for a UI developer does not make sense to me, yet often I encounter in the interviews .

Hey Mehul, loving these codecasts, and would love to see more of these in the future.
I had a question, as a fresher we don't have a lot of experience with different tech and we are just looking for good mentorship, so we can't just go out and suggest changes to the company product or something like that. So can you make a codecast on how freshers who have less than 1 year of programming experience should approach getting jobs and what should be the things one must do on the entry level job/intern and personal projects to go to the next level.

Again, thanks for sharing these videos.

This is just what I needed. Though I have been placed via campus, I still go nuts over the sheer amount of theoretical knowledge required to properly learn the advanced DSA concepts which many a time has led to depression and anxiety. Thanks mate!

I gave interviews to some mid size startups. They too had a DSA round. So not asking DSA does not apply to all startups. What to do then?

I realised this way back and never went through all this SHIT !

Really liked this video... keep making it and we will keep watching

First step to solving any problem is recognising there is one. People are now starting to realise for most roles you don't need DSA heavy interviews. I do my little bit in changing this by not asking DSA whenever I am taking interviews.

I think DSA round is not only for filtering but if a new problem is occur how the enginner figure out the things.

I learn basic Angular...But i really like React for future...So should i learn React before going deep in Angular?

The thing is most of these startups pay like 10k-20k per month to freshers where is FANG pays 1L-1.25L to even freshers

I’m yet to understand why I need to apply some algorithm on an Array of thousands of items. Seriously, who tf stores 1000 items in an array? Don’t we have ? Also what is the point of inverting a binary tree? A inverted tree is still a tree.

Let me get straight, what I need to learn for problem solving?? These DSA will help to improve the problem solving skills ryt?

That's true. Thanks for the video.

im confused.
If you're a good competitive coder. how the hell are u supposed to debug bugs which come up in mongodb lol
literally u will be seeing that error for the first time.
ur CP skills wont translate into solving these kind of bugs imo
