This is the first vid of yours I'm seeing and it's an easy like and subscribe. I couldn't agree with your take on these settings more. As a PC enthusiast, this is exactly the kind of thing that got me into the hobby in the first place. Cheers to Massive for catering to the enthusiast crowd and cheers to you for highlighting their effort and explaining it's purpose perfectly

You're all i needed man to see the difference

Try using FSR 3.0 frame generation, with Nvidia cards from 20 series on this should work.
It should avoid the additional input lag. In Cod it does work, maybe in this here too .

Hey AZZATRU I love the coverage you have provided for Star Wars Outlaws, you are doing a great job. I needed to ask you, have you had any PS5 players report while playing Star Wars Outlaws that their controller turns red while playing the game? My controller started out as blue when I first start playing the game then it turns red while I am full health. Is this normal for the game or a glitch? Or do I need a new controller?

KCD has "experimental" settings that are directly warns you about perfomance hit.
Extra steps here. Although, nice feature.

Runs like s**** with a video quality comparable to games that run on the same HW at twice the frame rate.

Any tips on how to make console version look good? I’m wondering. I honestly have no idea what’s the difference between performance or quality.

Gamer is just a bad optimized one ... and it seems game publishers in 2023-2024 take advantage of frame generation and upscalling techniques in order to deliver poor optimized games. Look any Hideo Kojima games that look and run 5-10x better ... but if we are accepting this poor optimisation as an excuse ...

I love the gameplay and the story so far, but my biggest complaints at the moment are the long Loading Screens, I've set a timer once on how long the startup loading screen (From Main Menu into the Game itself) took for me which was a monstrous 11 minutes. And after a death, the reloading took around the same time. The area takes also a long time to load all the props, NPCs and such... which caused my first 3 deaths by clipping & falling through the Floor.
I gonna jump back in after they released a Patch because i stare more at those loading screens then i get to actually play.
And it's not that my PC is a potato, I can run things like Baldur's Gate 3 and Battlefront 2 smoothly and no issue.
Not really sure how to fix it.

DLSS and FG have spoiled lazy devs such as Ubi where only buying 4090/5090/6090s will give you good performance, because devs don’t intend on caring about delivering good optimization. Sad reality we found ourselves in

Hey Azzatru, I need help with my graphics settings, I’m using a pc that has a resolution of 2560-1440 and has a RTX 4070 TI for my GPU, what settings should I use because my VRAM is already maxed up to 11.

For example playing on a 4090 in 1440p: Select the 'OUTLAW' profile, opt for DLAA(!) instead of DLSS, and enable frame generation. This will provide you with a buttery smooth gameplay experience. If you like to save some watts of power consumption, cap the framerate in NVCP at 90 FPS (Turn V-Sync on in NVCP and cap the framerate in to have it working with FrameGen - use NVCP, do not use RTSS).
Anyway .. the beautiful OUTLAW MAX settings are absolutely playable _today_. Also 4080 cards should also be able to handle these fine (you can use DLSS instead of DLAA or turn down shadow and volumetric fog settings a notch - on a 4090 you can also play it in 4K instead of 1440p, just use DLSS insead of DLAA. I prefer DLAA in 1440p even over DLSS in 4K as I really do not like DLSS artifacts for example on electrical grid wires, antennas or handrails and such.)
Anyway. The OUTLAW MAX settings are not an issue. They can be completely used today. The one and only real "killer" or "future proofing" setting in this game is NVIDIA RTX Direct Illumination. RTXDI is not visually worth it considering the performance costs / performance loss. Instead of playing ULTRA settings with a low- to high RTXDI setting, just turn NVIDIA RTXDI completely off and enjoy the OUTLAW MAX settings instead.
There are some points in the game where using RTXDI you will go down to 10-20 native FPS. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming RtX 5090 will handle these spots. The performance loss is so huge in these locations, that even a 5090 will not be able to keep up the framerate and NVIDIA might be undermining itself with all their RT nonsense. That being said, I think the game would perform- and look stellar too, if there would be a mode without any RT at all possible. Seeing developers building their games on RT or Unreal Engine 5's "Lumen" is sad, as this technology is not really efficient yet. I would prefer a rasterized game with optional RT features. Optional mening people being able to completely turning this off. (Cyberpunk 2077 was capable of running without all the RT upscaling and denoising mess for example. With a decent Reshade you get stunning visuals and insane performance nevertheless of not using RT at all.)

That setting was not hidden for future proofing, no dev does this. It is more likely due to bug / optimization + driver reasons

You gotta start recording or atleast uploading at 4K, the bitrate of the video will be WAYYY higher and the quality, sharpness and compression will be wayy better. Its time man, make the switch, your late 😂

Guys...stop crying of optimization. The hardware is crap. We will see more of UE5 games and to be honest only 4090 and 5090 has the power to run it well.
Its sad yes but we will have super ultra textures and 4K Native but the hardware is not well performed.
