VAR is Even Worse Outside of the Premier League...
In this video, we look at three Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Decisions, made outside the Premier League, that are extremely controversial and terrible. This is a football/soccer commentary/documentary that talks about the worst VAR decisions of all time, such as the longest ever decision made in the Bundesliga and worst ever referee decision made in the Serie A.

VAR may have controversial moments in the Premier League, but it gets way worse in the other leagues such as the Bundesliga and the Serie A. We look at incidents such as the Mainz v Freiburg 2018 Longest Ever VAR Decision that lasted 6 minutes, and the Worst VAR Decision of All Time, the Bonucci offside in Juventus vs Salernitana. This video was extremely fun to make, I hope you enjoy!

If I remember correctly then they said that the VAR desicion in Mainz against Freiburg took so long because the Refs had to check the rules if it is allowed to call back the players after the half-time whistle.

Conversations between the refs and VAR need to be made public and refs should be interviewed like mangers after game's explaining their decisions

Worst VAR decision of all time has now gone back to the Premier League, when Diaz scored an onside goal, the goal was given, the referee forgot to give it and carried on, and VAR didn't bother telling him lmao

That last one is just crazy. I've missed a player before in my refereeing days. Mainly because I was completely on my own, not even any linesmen, as it was my local under 11s B team, and it's a decision I still remember to this day because of how wrong I got it. I cannot even fathom of doing it in Serie A with all that technology available.

The fancy dress was a good idea until I ended up looking like a WWE referee instead of a football one…

"Because if something like this happened in the Premier League, it would be meltdown"
Then it happened.
Yay Premier League.

I actually agree that Bonucci was interfering with play as both a referee and a goalkeeper. He does not need to touch it for his actions to deceive a goalkeeper in what needs to be an instinctive reactive moment for him to affect a save. Was it going in anyway? Yes, no way he was saving it. But don't jump for the ball. But missing a player like that is something I'm not sure you can come back from. That said, with Juve's history with referees it might have been a little bit of cosmic karma.

1:30 Imagine going out for a cup of beer in the half-time, come back before 2nd half and you somehow missed a goal

3:37 Something like that kinda happened in Liverpool vs Tottenham
First, Diaz’s goal was onside and second, Jota’s first yellow wasn’t a foul

4:41 clear interfering. If there wasn't a player playing him onside, this would be the right call.

I once watched a game where the VAR decision took 10 whole minutes. And that was because the VAR screen for the referee malfunctioned and it took 10 minutes for them to fix it. The decision took place in the 80th minute of the match. They ended up adding 10 injury time minutes.

4:01 "the only time VAR as been objectively incorrect" - what about the Sheffield Utd - Aston Villa goal that wasn't given?

Unfortunately in the 7 months since this was posted the perm has had much worse decisions than all of these.

Imo the decision of the ref of Man city vs tottenham spurs to first give advantage to Man city but when Haaland gives a great pass and man city can score and win the game he blows the whistle is just outragious

I understand for a ref to make wrong decision with his eyes and his angle of the event but it's unforgivable for a team of people in a room with atleast 20 monitors to have a wrong or super controversial calls every week. They are not perfect but can't have more than 2 or 3 incidents a year around the whole world not 5 only in the prem this week.

Rugby has TMO and they put the instant replay up for everyone including the referee to see. They are NOT afraid of controversy because they always aim to make the RIGHT decisions. Whereas football referees ran half the pitch to watch a monitor that ONLY the referee can see. If a player goes over to take even a peep, he is punished with a yellow card. Why the secrecy? If everything is above board, why are you afraid to show the data in the open? If you are afraid of fan riots, ban those fans who are hooligans! Football organizations are either incompetent or corrupt. Why else would implementing such a simple technology like VAR be such a failure?

I remember that in Brazil's game against Peru, i slept when they were reviewing Richarlison's goal for offside. I woke up and it was still going on
