Ninja cruising on highway, lane splitting and seeing cops then...

After getting out of uni, I went straight onto highway toward Sunnybank. After getting off highway, there have been some road constructions caused a long queue. I then tried to split lane and to get to the front.
Suddenly, a cop car was standing in front of me. I understood the lane cutting thing is illegal in Queensland. If I kept riding forward, they might catch my plate number anyway. So I decided to wait behind the cop. If anyone came out to me, I was screwed. Luckily, they seemed pretty calm and nothing really happened to me at the end of the day.
Interesting experience... Splitting lane is kinda a Grey area in Australia, some cop don't seem to mind, but some would give ticket.

Good to see you didn't just go past them. Even though they wouldn't have cared.

AFAIK lane splitting was perfectly legal in Queensland UNDER 40km/hr. I'm a rarity, when I'm one of those motorists that is in a line of traffic and see a rider, I'll move to the left abit and let them through. That said, i've been thinking about getting a Ninja 250

Sorry for the 3rd comment aha, they looked like general duties officers. It's the Highway Patrol mob of the traffic branch that you've got to look out for who are specifically trained with a fine tooth comb to rehearse traffic law and will look out for stuff like this.

Lol most of the time they don't bother. But I'm not sure I'd have the balls to keep going lol. I've split down that exact road a couple of times myself, but been too paranoid to upload it lol. That road works was a nightmare.
