Jan Hammer - Crockett's theme (12'' Version)

1986 - what a great time to be alive. Miami Vice on the TV, Top Gun at the movies and Michael McDonald's Sweet Freedom on the radio. The mid 80's had two key things: Massive optimism and what we thought would be a bright future. So glad I was there.

Us 80's kids were lucky!

This song literally brings tears to my eyes because, A. I want to be a kid in the 80s again, and B. I love Miami Vice. This is probably my favorite instrumental song of all time.

Living in the 80's was like living and endless life, cause we were surounded by unreal people, films, musics etc ...
It was like living a dream that would never end.
And then ... it ended.
I want the 80's back so bad!
Best decade ever!
I HOPE IS COMING BACK SOON 🙏🙏🙏

A beautiful piece of music that brings out such raw emotion and really touches my soul... returning me to a time of my youth some 36 years ago. Miami Vice was an absolute masterpiece and will live with me forever. Long live the 80's

One of the best scores ever created. I used to blast this in my car on hot summer days while driving with the windows down. Very calming and makes you feel like you can handle anything that comes your way with the wind blowing on you. I miss the 80's.

When Crockett's Theme started getting played on the air I waited what seemed like FOREVER to catch it on the radio so I could record it onto cassette. Before the internet this was about the only way to acquire obscure TV themed music because you really couldn't find it anywhere else. When my local FM station finally played it I remember the DJ rambled through the entire intro and I was so pissed because I'd waited for so long to catch it and they TALKED right up until the main part of the song came in and I remember cursing the DJ for ruining my precious Crockett's Theme recording! When you recorded music that way you always had to hope the DJ wouldn't ruin it by running their mouth through the start or the end!

This is not just any theme. If you've seen this series, you'll understand - there's a lot of feeling behind this music.

I am dreaming of the era where all we had was the best- the best music, the best series, the best clothes, fun, men, every thing was REAL.

I had a baby sitter that watched Miami Vice all the time. I always loved this tune. Respect, from a 90s kid.
