What Are The Cornerstones? | Honkai Star Rail Lore

In honkai star rail's 2.1 storyline, we are shown a scene where aventurine, one of the IPC's top members accesses an incredible amount of power through the use of a gem he carries around. This gem, known as a cornerstone is something so valuable that even Sunday from the Family is interested in it as its said to hold the power of preservation itself. Through the use of this object, aventurine was able to power up and contend with the nameless and acheron at the same time. But what are the cornerstones exactly?

Are they parts of qlipoths body, are the just a housing for extreme power or are they something else entirely. Thats what we will be discussing in this video, the nature of these cornerstones, its creator and what powers do they hold

Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

Aventurine said that because he broke his stone before, the power he would gain would be way reduced, so we didn't see Aventurine in his full potential

Aventurine claim himself that because he broke the stone the power he would gain would be much weaker, but he had hope to be just right to survive a Emanator attack. Which it did.

No. Cornerstones do not need to be broken to give power. In fact, breaking them greatly diminishes its power

I personally dont think you actually need to break the cornerstones to access its power.

Ratio or perhaps Jade stated that Aventurine's Cornerstone was severely diminished the moment he broke it to deceive Sunday. So I perceive its simply a matter of intent rather than than something like a method to access the Cornerstone's power.

In my eyes what was written sounds more like personal oaths rather than an activation line.

Also, I do not believe that anything containing a portion of Qlipoth's power would be so flimsy as a one time use object. If anything, like the path's namesake. They are meant to last. Aventurine likely broke it further to try to squeeze out all the power his comprimised cornerstone had in order to reach the objective. Which was for Acheron to send him into Penacony's 'Death Zone'.

Which lucky or unlucky for him, he succeeded. He remained alive, is now able to travel further to find out Penacony's secrets, and is broken from Sunday's control.

You don't need to break the stones, Jade in the last scene was remote activating the cornerstone (using its power) by just chanting the line.

Aventurine also called Architect's lance an incomplete cornerstone. Meaning MC's lance could have give him power if it was complete.

Breaking the cornerstone actually decreases its strength... I remember that somewhere in the penacony story, someone said that desecrating a cornerstone like adventurine was nigh heretical. ur videos are goated but i think that the assumptions in ur vid r wrong.

So far we only know 7 of the Stone hearts (Diamond, Jade, Aventurine, Topaz, Obsidian, Opal and Pearl), so there are still three missing gemstones, A lot are speculating it's Ruby, Saphire and Emerald but there are still a lot of gemstones out there. There are 12 gemstones associated with the bible, gemstones that represents each month etc. It's basically speculations since there are too many LMFAO

I feel like a possible origin of the cornerstones itself are fragments of Qlipoth (that Diamond explicitly asked for)? How else would they be able to tap into an Aeon's powers without explicitly being chosen. It would also explain why Preservation seems like the only one that can do this since the other Aeon's don't really have any sort of... physical form that people can just bring around without causing suspicion and Qlipoth doesn't really feel like they'd mind if their powers are being used by trusted people (hence why the cornerstones are only given to the Stonehearts, and not just any random member of the IPC.

The thing that insane to me and i dont see anyone talking about it is the "pray" that they do everytime they wanna activate connerstone. "i'm taking the gamble" for aventurine and "i came to harvest" for jade (The line she said to topaz in the black screen after defeating aventurine) . its like every stonehearts have their own philosophy of persevation but at the end of it they say the same thing... "ALL FOR THE AMBER LORD" which is dope af

it kinda funny that you are surprise at how strong diamond could be when Diamond is an emanator of Qlipoth, one of the oldest aeon alive to day and one of the strongest one as well imo, Preservation is no joke as a path, it stronger than most people think

What i am intrigued about the cornerstone is the possibility, that it might be an artefact similar to architect lance. While MC seems only use tiny amount of its power, I bet a lot of player forgot that those lance initially causing raging firestorm in Jarillo 6 entire planet when manifesting from will of preservation prior the deal with the stelaron creating eternal freeze.
In turn this make me wonder if MC did unknowingly become emanator themself considering they gain the gaze of qlipoth AND inheriting the will of preservation.

I remember reading in game that a Cornerstone is made from a Stoneheart's energies, so that means it's a manifestation of their ability as a Pathstrider of Preservation.

I believe Eminators have their power based what they represent. They don't get new abilities just because they become one. Acheron became one because, despite all of her hardships and triumphs, it was all based on the lie that she could save her world when in reality what she did meant nothing. Both world would have been pulled into the black hole regardless of what she did, but by her blade she ended the war and detonated the black hole destroying both worlds. She is the blade that brings nihility: Naught.
