Keep in mind that Whitebeard could have easily became the next Pirate King, there was nobody and nothing that could have stopped him. But that was not his dream, he did not wish to become the next pirate king. His dream was to have a family of his own, and he fulfilled that dream, in a beautifull manner, giving people that were considered "outcasts" a chance to become a part of it. Man I love One piece so much.

honestly this speech is what cemented Whitebeard as my favorite captain in OP. This beast of a man, even after taking that many hits and being killed by his treacherous son, he had the balls to dis both blackbeard and the marines. Also some of my cousins last words, Dude was a die hard one piece fan. His drinking habit caught up to him though, He thought he has was only gonna live until a year or so after his diagnosis. But the dude kept rolling with the punches and lived long enough to see whitebeard and Rogers clash. Two things kept him going, One piece and family, in that order. These weren't his exact last words but more so his last words to me. The night he passed away we were talking about all types of shit until the conversation fell on one piece.

He started talking about how he was gonna go out like whitebeard and stand at the moment of his death. Then he literally yelled this out word for word "One piece does exist" but in Japanese. While in a quiet hospital. Shit was hilarious he had the nurses coming in the room. Sadly he passed away later on that night in his sleep. RIP Andy

However, he found the treasure he always wished for, the most precious for him: a family. He lived and died for them. We could say he found his own One Piece.
