Veteran Congress leader and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has said that the grand old party has failed to stop the surge saffron surge in recent years across the country, admitting that the BJP's election formula is working and showing results. Rawat said that the reason behind BJP's rise is the weakness of Congress at the grass-root level as it remained more focused on governance since Independence. Watch the interview excerpt.

I will tell u what our uttrakhand people think about Rawat ji.. though he is a good person himself.. during his time, people of uttrakhand see the flood in 2013.. and people lose their life, livelihood and most important thing the road construction.. which Rawat ji lack the most.. uttrakhand govt recieved huge sum of money for the construction of uttrakhand and it's road.. but the implementation was half hearted. I m just a person who is saying on behalf of uttrakhand people. That was the main reason when Rawat ji lose it seat in uttrakhand... People over here still love him..
