Green Tree Frog, The Best Pet Amphibian?

preview_player
Показать описание
Green tree frogs (Dryophytes cinereus) are amazing little frogs that bring joy into your home. The American green tree frog is much smaller and more active than the Australian green tree frog, also known as the White's tree frog, or dumpy tree frog. American green tree frogs are one of the most reasonable small pets that you can get, but is the green tree frog the right pet amphibian for you?

"they'll sing to you at night!" perfect, that's exactly what I need to go to sleep, no more "10 hours of swamp sounds" to fall asleep to

One of the best things about living in Florida is baby frog season, where I come home everyday and the outside of my house is covered in teeny tiny froglets 🥰

You should cover what is arguably the world’s most famous frog, the Red Eyed Tree Frog

I came here to learn about the animal but honestly was just as delighted by how excited and cheerful this guy is when he talks about the creature. This video is pure joy

My brother’s green tree frog really did jump in my mouth once when I was a kid! We both survived, but I don’t recommend it.

I had a trio of green tree frogs many years ago, and i can attest to how widely varied they can be as individual personalities. One was a killer, as soon as food entered the aquarium, it was already lights out for a few poor souls, like a homing missle. One, was a bit like a tarantula, if you didn't bump into him, or otherwise crawl directly into his mouth, you were probably fine. The other, aptly named "loco" can be accurately summarized with loved those little guys.

My scariest mini-predator list would include dragonflies and all related species. Not only can they fly extremely fast, and actively hunt their prey, but have pinpoint accuracy that’s both amazing and terrifying.

I like that he’s very direct and also very realistic. Like when you go to a reptile expo the workers there could care or not so the advice can be sketchy but you can tell he really cares, and you can tell he tries to make good points for parents.

I love these guys! They are super cute and gentle! When I was a kid, I lived across from an elementary school. I used to catch these guys from the school because the kids would find them and play with them and a lot of times the frogs would get hurt. After catching them, I’d re-home them in my vegetable garden. Which had lots and lots of bugs. At one point I had so many frogs in my yard, you could hear a chorus of frog songs pretty loudly at night! It stayed like that for a long while. Our yard didn’t have a bug problem, they had a lovely home, and I got sung to every night!

You should do firebelly toads eventually. My dad had one when I was a young child and I liked having it kept in my room because it had such a cute, personable face. It learned that singing would get the humans to bring crickets so we would feed it whenever it asked for food. I remember many a night where I would yell out "Dad, the toad's hungry!" because its singing woke me up.

I have one of these and he’s such a sweetheart. Every time I open the enclosure he’ll jump onto my hand and look at me.

I love green tree frogs! My grandma lives at the beach in North Carolina and I find them on her porch and back deck all the time. They are really beautiful creatures! Keep up the good content!

I love the sound when the green tree frog lands after he’s sprung off to explore the reptile room. Beautiful green sticky booger. It’s a shame they don’t live long 2 to 5years. I will have to get green tree frogs too add to my Amphibian collection one day. 🐸💚 absolutely stunning frog and tonnes of fun and enjoyment in a small package🐸💚

CUTE FROG, LOVELY VIDEO.

I FELT YOU HAVE TRAINED THAT FROG IN YOUR OWN WAY BECAUSE IT KNOWS WHEN YOU WANT IT TO GET ON YOUR HAND. YOU PUT YOUR HAND A CERTAIN WAY UNDER ITS CHIN AND IT GETS ON YOUR HAND.
