My husband took oral minoxidil for maybe a month and felt like he couldn’t breathe whenever he lied down. Looked up side effects and apparently trouble breathing is a rare but noted side effect! He uses minoxidil topically now and oral finasteride and hasn’t had any issues

My husband took it orally for many years when he was younger. His hair loss startet in his late youth. He took it as long, as his bloodwork was fine. But once his liver levels changed he stopped. That was in his late 20s. He is now 42 and has lost almost all of his hair on top of his head, but is fine with it now.

The best thing that happened was topical finasteride. Way better than the oral stuff, lesser chance of side effects.

I have heard the topical is extremely toxic to pets, so perhaps the oral would be safer for that reason.

I personally have never understood why pattern baldness is made such a big deal of, especially in the US it seems. I've always associated it with like, academics, classical musicians, chill uncles etc. Especially of the eastern european/middle eastern persuasion. I myself am looking forward to it, ever since I noticed the first signs.
