Good job on video. On public parks I carry a ground cloth to put my diggings on. Throw it back in hole replace plug it leaves no trace of me being their. Park people appreciate me removing the junk metal !!!

Hey Brother thanks for "keeping it real". This is the reason many people give the hobby up. It really takes persistance to consistantly find the goodies. As for settings go. The two things I would do different than you here is I'd run all metal ON and also turn the gain down to a couple clicks even below when the unit chirps. I live in the Ohio Valley so iron is an enemy every hunt. I've done well turning back my Sens. to 15 and slowing my swing speed down. This gives the Equinox (in particular) better modulation and reduces the high beams in the fog affect. Don't be afraid to run that gain low. I could still hit a 7" silver dime at sens. 12 in my test garden. Give it a shot. Find an area with older items and work a 10'x10' spot going slow and thorough.

I don’t need a $1600 detector to hunt new parks. My inexpensive Simplex does great. Thanks for the video.

on the should I or not section: I would dig it if it was showing me a good VDI and also iron VDI as well. Reason is to me is there is a possibility that a target non ferrous is possibly there. If it continues to stay at iron VDI, then I will by pass it. Also what I do in situations like that, I put my digger on the ground and break that halo and re scan, it will change VDI's. When in doubt, Dig it out!! Good vid brother

You need the model 31C Raptor from predator tools! Great digger for parks!

nice work joey, if i get a signal with a bit of a iron buzz, i try to use the pinpoint on the good tone if it is localised i dig, if it drags out on the pin point i walk on

Nice live digs, Joey. Yeah, you are going to get trash with the good stuff. I saw a lot of nickels there, that means others are missing them, so the odds of you plucking a ring out of the ground are going up. There are ways to listen to the sounds and rotate around on the target to get an idea of it's size. That might persuade you to dig or not. Keep Digging, Joey!

I ran 0 or 1 with the 600. Wanted to hear it all. Then after digging nails, got tired of that, started running up to 2, did not run with 3 that much, should have now that I think of it. Got of the NOX wagon and only have the XP D2. Let's see what kind of summer this will be and my next back up machine, gonna go way out and try an American Brand. As far as the trash at the end of the vid, that's about the average pile for 3 hours, ever watch Kevin, east tx metal detectorist? You should see his piles, but man does he get goodies. He's mostly a ballfield park guy. Think he runs a 600 too. Nice vid J

Got to like the reality of detecting. Trash To Treasure. It is all just the thrill of the hunt. I know I am still learning the 600 as I am starting to break away from the factory settings.. I have nothing more To do as most grounds I have been pounding out for yrs. So I know that there is still targets there just got to get through the iron or just get the iron out of the way..

Gday Joey. Good to see you back in the field. Shame about all the junk. Quick heads up. I asked a few minelab outlets & operators about a future nox version 2. No one has heard any thing about it yet. Mite just be a rumour. But this was interesting. There is talk about a specialist minelab meteorite detector in the wind. There are lots of meteorite hunters here in communist Australia asking for a dedicated detector for that field. I personaly know 1 who uses a fisher f75 for this purpose, with some sucess. Apparently minelab is listening. They just mite get their wish. I will keep my ear to the ground & let you know more as I hear it. It mite just be talk too. Keep you posted. All the best, good hunting. Cheers Mate.

Hey Joey although I don't hunt the parks using my equinox I usually use my Deus one or my CTX 3030 I will tell you about as far as the digging trash part that you were talking about there's a video on XP how to dig less trash and this is with the Deus only it isn't with other machines it's how this one particular works cuz it has tonal nuances look up XP metal detecting how to avoid trash with the XP Deus what I'm getting at here is there are machines that are created that you will pretty much can go out and dig in a park and know what you're digging prior to digging it up it's not perfect but same thing with the CTX 3030 with the graph and a really really good ID numbers and you can identify targets very well same with the tonal nuances from the XP Deus don't get me wrong nothing's perfect but the more you know your machines the better you become at this 👍🦀

“We’re not at Zales.” 😂 You should try the 6 inch coil to narrow in on those iffy targets and on the interference between your pin pointer and Nox, try doing a frequency shift on your detector to see if that will cut off the interference between the two. If you hunt the beach waters, your rewards would be greater. Happy.Hunts. _/

Nice video Joey, made me want to go out today and hunt, but too cold and windy. Use an old sock for a good cheap windscreen, try different thicknesses until you get that nice quiet go pro.it works surprisingly well. As for those pesky vdi reads that are minus, I usually pass those up since minus usually is a hot rock, rusted coat hanger wire or a wicked halo effect. In any case I usually pass those up myself especially if I'm only hunting for 30 minutes or so I want to maximize my time hunting for good Hi town signals. That really sucks about not being able to use a shovel at Vegas parks, especially on that Bermuda grass or St Augustine grass it's just horrid trying to break through that thatched grass like you had mentioned pain in the grass, For sure!

Well Joey I think that's where they say dig everything, a good example is nickels, even though its just 5 cents its in the target range of pull tabs and some bottle caps but last week going slow swings and rotate on the target to determine if the target is round or not (that part its getting better the more I hunt) and as far as telling you its trash the whites v3i has a plotter software that is pretty accurate as to is the target trash or high value non ferrous. What's cool about the plotter on the v3i as it gives you three frequency lines and in a lot of cases if one of the 3 lines doesn't trend with the others its most likely a trashy target. Joey look up vids on YouTube v3i and you will see what I mean, and this detector by whites is about 20 years old so what does that tell you. I use a Nox 600 even though its fast in recovery and has a good discrimination abilities, good feed back Joey thanks for keeping it real.

I am not sold on multi frequency machines. Too hot on iron with the high frequency. Seems that’s how I see it. They love low conductors. I want one, but I’m not sure I’d like it.

I notch out everything but 12 13 and 23 up for coin hunting in park 1 and for gold rings in park 2 notch out everything but 10 to 15

JOEY . go buy your self a lecshe type hand trowel an put a long handle on it .that way you still have a trowel not a shovel. Its a no brainer. Then you can tell the park police to go pound salt. Its a trowel.
