Snakes are both feared and honored throughout the world. In Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism of India, they are worshipped and feared in the form of the Nagas, and feminine Naginis. Nagas are semi-divine beings who protect sources of fresh water and precious stones and minerals. To befriend or please a Naga will bring great fortune, but beware, an angry Naga's wrath can lead to devastation!

MYTHOLOGY HAS BEEN TOLD AND RETOLD IN MANY FORMS ACROSS TIME, STORIES AND ACCOUNTS MAY VARY.

Finally, I felt these guys were overlooked a lot during the Dragons video.
Just one little correction, Naga in Sanskrit means Cobra specifically, the term for snakes in general is Sarpa

Incredible, exactly the same entities, characteristics and organisation in African Spirituality. We call them "iziNkanyamba" (Serpents). My mind is blown.

I had the wildest most vivid dream of my encountering a Nagini who was significantly larger in stature than me. She moved above me on a platform which was somewhat obscured by a wall with large glass windows almost seemed like an aquarium and I could hear water as she moved through it.. She had said she knew of me in this dream despite the obvious distances between man and Naga due to my work as a protector of the weak and powerless. She offered me a sword of her making from 7 different blades displayed upon a hallway wall in front of me as she moved back and forth above me. Having studied Iaido I was most familiar and proficient with the Japanese katana yet none of these blades were similar to a katana. I asked if there were others to choose from and she immediately stung me in the back with a stinger on the end of her tail and at that moment my whole body felt shocked with the strangest euphoria imaginable in real life which woke me almost immediately in disbelief. It was so vivid and so random and now to learn of the Naga is just WILD😮! The strange part is for the next few days afterwards, the chronic pain in my back from breaking my back along with bulging 6 discs in my lumbar and thoracic regions sustained by a spinal load injury given to me by a 34' SeArk naval patrol craft on my last deployment with the US Navy in 2006-07 had actually subsided significantly for a few days afterwards.

I'm from Brahmin Hindu from Southern part of India. We religiously pray for Naga Devatha. Offer milk and eggs near Snake God. Every thing you said about Nagas is accurate. I was taught in school about theory of evolution by Charles Darwin and other stuff, but my parents/ grandparents say different. I don't know which one to believe

I got a feeling that Naga are the same Beings as Dragons in Chinese Mythology. The similarity is uncanny. Perhaps, they really do exist.

6:34 not as an ornament Shiva drank poison
So Nag Raj Bhasuki wrapped himself onto Shiva's throat
so that the poison stays above his head which caused Shiva to turn Blue.
At first it was for the poison, but then he found himself staying in there for a long time.

In the Philippines, the Naga City, in the Bicol Region near Mayon Volcano, is said to have been named after a Naga Snake. But, I think we’ve lost the full legend about it. The name “Mayon” is considered a Fairy or a god in local folk lores.
There is also a Naga City in Cebu Island Province, I do not know anything about it though.

I am an indian, the nagas which you refers are ancient humans who first started to make noice when speaking, the sound looks as if it heard by an reptilian eg : snake, also they worshipped snake figured gods which actually represents the human DNA structure, there were many clans in nagas and most were originated from sri lanka, they are also referred in some of our tamil ancient literature's. we believe that they have spoken tamil as their language, they were in high level of architecture at their time

In my favorite book series “Hawksong: The Kiesha’ra volumes.” The author Amelia Atwater Rhodes had created a world of shapeshifters one being the Serpient kingdom. They’re rulers were cobra shapeshifters with the king being called Diente and queens being called Nagas. At war with their bird sharp shifting counter parts Avians. It’s my favorite book series.
