Image Stabilization On or Off? 📷 #photography

Should you keep Image Stabilization turned on all the time? Should you have Image Stabilization turned on when your camera is on a tripod? Here's what I do...

I had trouble due to this... I was trying to get a photo of the stars with my phone (don't laugh😭 I'm poor) with exposure time of 30 seconds, and I was getting a little bit of shake even with a sturdy tripod because there was no way of turning the OIS off

But a sensor with IBIS can’t ever really be turned of because the sensor still moves around with the magnets. *off

This doesn’t matter on LUMIX cameras. Leaving it on has no effect when mounted on a tripod. Also been able to take solid pictures with a 600mm with image stabilization turned on for 15 seconds.

I keep it on even on my gimbal zhiyun weebill 3s which can stabilize easily without ibis. It does not hurt. The stabilization is awesome with my Sony a7c. Ibis works well for photo. For video i now use my gimbal. But i always keep the Ibis ON anyway.

Different brand has different ibis, lumix has the best, sony on 2nd. I really like how canon functioning but ibis on r6ii or r5 seems to wobly same like digital steady on davinci or premiere

Rule of thumb...is when moving vs no when static.

Hey I don’t know whether it’s a problem with your camera, but I never experienced something like this in my Canon R6ii.
I always leave me IBIS on when taking long exposures and even at 30 seconds I never had a problem with any blur.

Hye i got question what would happen if you put a memory card of a camera into a diferent camera from another brand like for example
If you put an sd card from a canon into a sony what would happen to the card would the other camera read the images or would it malfunction
