Avon, Colorado, is a picturesque mountain town located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, about 8 miles west of Vail. Sitting at an elevation of 7,431 feet, it serves as the gateway to the world-famous Beaver Creek Resort and is a popular year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

In the winter, Avon attracts skiers and snowboarders who flock to Beaver Creek’s pristine slopes, while summer brings hikers, mountain bikers, and water sports lovers to nearby trails, lakes, and the Eagle River. Nottingham Lake, located in the center of town, is a hub for paddleboarding, fishing, and community events. The Harry A. Nottingham Park, surrounding the lake, hosts concerts, festivals, and the town’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration.

Despite its small-town feel, Avon boasts a variety of dining, shopping, and cultural experiences. Local restaurants serve everything from gourmet meals to casual après-ski fare, while boutique shops and art galleries reflect the town’s mountain culture. Avon is also home to the annual WinterWonderGrass Festival, a bluegrass and craft beer celebration that draws visitors from across the country.

With its stunning alpine setting, outdoor activities, and laid-back mountain vibe, Avon is a great base for both adventure seekers and those looking to relax in Colorado’s high country. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, exploring scenic trails, or just soaking in the mountain views, Avon offers a quintessential Rocky Mountain experience.

ABOUT ME:
► I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and graduated with a Marketing degree from Oakland University.
► I moved to Longmont, CO in November 2016 and fell in love with all the beautiful hiking trails that Colorado has to offer. So, in April 2012, the Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show was born.
► In November 2019, I took a 4-month camping trip in my pop-up camper. This gave me an opportunity to travel, explore, unwind, and create lots of great videos.
► In December 2020, I began recording a series of downhill skiing videos in Colorado. These quickly became popular and my passion for YouTube was re-ignited!
► I actually had so many great memories of my first camping trip that I decided to do another one. So, in April 2021, I converted a 12-foot enclosed trailer into a camper and documented the whole process.
► In June 2021, I reached 1,000 subscribers and was able to monetize my channel.
► By January 2023, I was already at 2,000 subscribers and counting!
► The Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show allows me to share all of my experiences with you. Join me on my adventure as I talk about life, laughter, exploration, and creating content for YouTube...enjoy!
