Honestly, I'm rooting for Xbox. I'm a PlayStation gamer primarily but the better Xbox does, the better PlayStation will have to continue to do. Competition is good.

Yes Disco Elysium 100% is a game that I don’t want to end. The story, characters, world, music, choices, gameplay, style, narrators, and the most modern dystopian vibe I’ve ever had in a game period and I love it. ❤

100% it does. Xbox was the only console I’ve had since the 360 and the last 5 years or so I really felt my love of gaming declining. I’d still play older games and had a few staples like Destiny 2 that I’d go back to from time to time but to me almost all new games fell flat and nothing really excited me. About 6 months ago I got a PC and I’ve been playing a lot of the big, triple AAA PlayStation titles that have come to Steam like God of War, Horizon, Last of Us, etc and it has honestly reignited my love of gaming. Those games raise the bar for games as a storytelling medium so far above anything I’ve experienced on Xbox and knowing that I’ve been missing out on those experiences as an Xbox owner for so many years is really disappointing. I have no interest in the next Xbox console if the quality of their games doesn’t raise to what Playstation is providing.

The question about Xbox is why does this keep happening. I feel like we had these same discussions when Crackdown 3 came out. Phil had a plan and was going to turn things around back then too.

Broken record moment: I just added that ECO game to my Steam wishlist to play on Steam Deck based off Jeff Grubb’s high praise of it.

Great show as always.

It would be hard to give my top 10 because I’ve played so many over almost 40 years of living, but clear standouts are:

- Metal Gear Solid

- Super Mario Bros. 3

- Super Mario World

- NBA 2K11

- Nier (and by the same token, the ‘remaster / remake’ Nier Replicant v. numbers lol which had QOL changes, new expanded story, and an additional ending which tied the story even more to ⬇️

- Nier: Automata

- Final Fantasy VIII (it was my Final Fantasy VII in that the way people hold 7 in such high regards, I feel that way about 8 so much).

- Final Fantasy X

- The Witcher 3

- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

- Mario 64

- Street Fighter II: Turbo

- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

I will stop here though. 😂

Last thing. I swore I thought NCAA Football was gonna be back THIS year. Glad the young men got some compensation for their likenesses.

I literally can’t wait for this game, but in the meanwhile I think I’m gonna get into the weeds of mods and fool around with NCAA College Football 14 and the NCAA College Football Revamped mod for it that a dedicated group of folks have been keeping this game alive with up-to-date rosters, stadiums, and so many tweaks. I’ve been wanting to try it forever lol.

After playing Zelda for the last week, I really hope 343 doesn't abandon the open world approach to Halo. I loved infinite's campaign. WIith some improvements. It could really be something special.

The doors in Return of the Ober Dinn are the most advanced videogame doors of all time and thus the 9th wonder of the world as doors are the single hardest thing to program in gaming. Most games don't have doors for a reason.
