This guy is a top notch presenter. To the point, clear message delivery, knows the vehicle like he built it himself and no fill-in words.🏆

I'm learning so much from this guy! Paranoid stepping out of my lifetime with Toyota, but this guy is really helping me get ready.

Alex, I've had my 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness for 13 months now, but I only recently started watching your very helpful videos, so thank you. If I have questions, I am more confident in your answering than anyone at my dealership.

Alex, you are easily, EASILY the best communicator of the wonderful world of car electronics! I leased a 2018 Outback and didn't know much of the information you have spelled out in your videos. Thank you and I hope you get some cars to sell! This microchip/supply chain squeeze is a giant pain. Oh, and congratulations on your engagement!

Hey there, Alex. Love your videos. So… I am watching your latest video and am in Singapore on business….but my new Crosstrek is in Greensboro, NC. I was able to start my car from Singapore, 11, 116 miles away. 😁. Recharge my battery so 3 weeks of sitting won’t kill my battery

Your videos are super helpful. It helped me choose a Subaru Outback for purchase. Unfortunately, I hit a moose 3 days after purchasing it. Usually hitting a moose (yes, Im in Canada) with a car is a death sentence. My dog Teddy and I had a few scratches and bruises. We were surrounded by air bags that kept us safe. It would make a great safety advertisement for Subaru. Except the poor Moose didnt make. Luckily a nearby dealership had one in stock and I will be getting it today. Keep up the good work.

Alex, I own 3 Subarus. And every time I turn on your videos, I learn something new about my Subarus. Functions that I had no idea. My oldest car is a 2018. It is just a base hatchback Impreza. It was my first experience with Subaru. What I learned from buying this. At, is to stay away from the base model. I despise those steel wheels and hubcaps. I now gave 69, 000 miles on that car. I have lost now 12 hubcaps. I just replaced the tires and I purchased new aftermarket wheels. I replaced the tires with the exact same tires that came on the car new. What I find, is maintenance on this car is very expensive. The car is cheap to buy new. But the upkeep is costly. Just to replace the spark plugs is 800 bucks. That’s ridiculous.

The remote start works from ANYWHERE as long as you've got service. I was on the west coast for an extended period of time. While I was away, my Subie was sitting in a parking garage at Chicago's O'Hare Airport and I started it twice while I was on the west coast.

Alex, you are a good guy and a hard worker that I have come to admire. I have owned three Subarus and even I have picked up a few useful pointers from you. You are becoming my "go to" guy if I have something I want to know or dig deeper on. Keep up the good work, I will continue to watch and your employers have to know they have a dedicated top notch guy in their organization!

I just bought my new 2022 Outback Wilderness last month, and I am so glad I found your channel!! The buying process was so hectic, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the features!! I am happy that I can take my time, watch your videos and process the information. ( And boy, is there a lot!) Thanks to this video, I have been able to set my Presets to MySubaru, and I may start to use the Auto Start feature... In Texas....In the Summer...! (Gonna be 100F this weekend) Thank you, Alex!

Alex- It is important to note that Starlink services are NOT available to Massachusetts residents on any model year 2022+ Subaru. The reason it is not available is because Subaru intentionally disabled it to comply with the state’s updated right-to-repair law. This law — which was a voter ballot initiative (not the legislature) -- requires auto makers to use an open-standard for telematics data so that independent mechanics can have access to it. Instead of changing the Starlink system, Subaru chose to simply disable it. This means no remote start, no crash notification, and none of the other services associated with it. This law also means dealer mechanics do not have access to telematics data — Subaru decided nobody can have access to it instead of letting everybody have access to it. The other auto makers, to my knowledge, have not disabled their systems and are complying with the open standard requirement.

I was wondering what the max time is for remote start, is there a setting that will keep the car running indefinitely? Or is there an upper limit before the cars turns off, like 15 min etc? Also, let’s say you start the car via the app and then lose cell service, does the car stay running or does it shut off if you are out of service or your phone dies for example? I’m waiting for my 2022 Ascent to arrive and I appreciate your videos!

Excellent. I stopped by to see how to change the preset temperature for remote start only to discover, I cannot. However, I learned a lot of other useful information. Thank you!

Thank you very much. I learned (in different video by another person) that I should warm up my 2019 Forrester. So I tried the MySubaru app to remotely start the engine from inside my house, and it works just fine. I was really pleased to come outside to a nice warm driver's seat. I told my wife she needs to warm up the car before driving off, and she just set up the MySubaru app on her own phone. Thank you for these videos, they are a definite help to both of us.

Hi Alex. I’ve been researching all things Outback and came across your videos. Really have learned a lot already. I’m close to purchasing a limited xt and was thinking I need a remote starter installed, but nope. Thanks to your video. The MySubaru app option is so much better!

Hello. It is 12° right now here in northern Michigan and the auto start feature on the app has been so helpful these past couple of days. Thanks for this deep dive in to all the settings and controls.
