FIXING my LUNCHTRAY SURFBOARD

About 2 weeks after I got my Lunchtray surfboard, the nose cracked while I was surfing some shorebreak. I "temporarily" fixed it with some gorilla tape, but after a few years the tape was no longer working ;)

So I decided to repair the nose of my surfboard the RIGHT way, with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin.

You did a really good job man, board repair can definitely be a projects, but your board came out really good. Btw I dig the transition at 5:11 lol pretty cool.

Not that I ever though otherwise, but I wanted to tell you that your surfing improved tons even compared to last year videos. It looks way smoother way more balanced on the board.

That being said, do you find it hard to turn with the wide square tail? I’m thinking of getting a board shaped based on your lunchtray but debating on the tail...

It's gonna bug me you didn't blend in the final coat, but looks good!

Honestly if that level of finish works for you then that's great. I prefer to take the extra time to sand my repairs flush so they look like they are a part of the board. No need to have all that extra weight from the extra resin that isn't adding any strength to the board. You can still sand it flush as it is now but you might need to add another hotcoat after to cover any exposed fiberglass.
