How to Loom Knit Round Baskets (DIY Tutorial)

This step-by-step tutorial shows you how to knit a round basket using a loom. The whole project is worked in flat panel, so any loom works (round looms & rake looms). The basket is made of a circle base, that is worked first, and a 2-color body that is loom knitted directly attached to it.

LOOM: Any loom can be used. The loom I use in this project is a 31-peg L gauge round loom, but I don't use all the pegs, I just work on some of them in flat panel.

YARN: The yarn I use here is a bulky weight yarn (size #6). If your thread is thinner than mine (a medium weight yarn), I recommend you to use 2 strands at the same time. For this project, I used a yarn called Katia Canada.

I wish, that this video had verbal description of what is going on in the video. I am legally blind and therefore cannot watch the video, however I do enjoy loom knitting and was very excited to see that this video existed, unfortunately, was very disappointed to find out that it is just music. The captions don’t help, because it’s not describing what is going on in the movie. It would’ve been much better to have a verbal tutorial on how to do this project.

I've downloaded the app and have been making some of your designs, just love them. The only downside is that I wish you could add new patterns weekly or even monthly.

I've recently made this basket, double the size as I have a lot of wool to put in. Made it with t-shirt material. A bit tighter than wool would have worked but it came out great.
