Join me as I sew Frilly, Plus Sized Edwardian Combinations! I used a Truly Victorian pattern and also got the chance to sew most of this historical sewing project on a vintage Singer sewing machine! These plus size historical undergarments are made with cotton voile and cotton eyelet. Thank you for joining me on my plus sized historical sewing and costuming adventures!

You look so graceful with those ruffles swirling around!

Your neighbors are like, "What's Rebecca doing prancing around the yard in her nightgown...again?!" Ah, the things we do for our hobbies! One of the things that quilters love is a very small Singer Featherweight sewing machine. A friend of mine found one at an estate sale and grabbed it for me...I just have to fly out to Wisconsin to pick it up. I was going there this summer for a wedding anyway, so I just have to pack the extra big suitcase!

I have my Granny’s vintage machine. It’s not as vintage as your sister’s.
I use a q-tip to control the oil when I oil it.
It works really well.
I’m glad you got to use this beauty.
It’s so cool.
These are so pretty!!!
Great work!!!

Definite fan of pleating instead of gathering! Did you find it disconcerting having a knee control rather than a foot pedal, on the vintage Singer?

I learned to use the knee controlled machines in Home Ec. There have been many times in recent years that I've wished I had one, like when my legs/ feet are numb and I can't feel or operate the foot control.

Sewing on the vintage machine looked like fun.
Your outfit turned out lovely. Such a pity no one gets to see these layers.

I inherited my grandmother's 1947 Featherweight. I don't have a table and a knee pedal, but it's small and portable, and sews like a dream. Maybe you need a Featherweight. : )

My sister is fantastic at picking out cards I thought that I would share a card that she gave me years ago! the only reason I am able to put my hands on it is because I framed it and it hangs in my office. Since you and your sister are close I thought that you would appreciate it..happy Birthday To my Sister, pal, counselor, , loyal defender, voice of reason, listener, sharer, friend of the heart ❤️💝❤️🖖🖖🖖🖖👍👍👍👍💝♥️💝🙋🏼‍♀️no wonder you had a few glitches you didn’t have the usual crew working with you

Meow, Meow, Meow! 😆 my cats had to come see what Lucias was on about 😄 after living in CO for 7 yrs I'm planning a visit back to GA, the sauna of Southern weather & mosquitoes- I'm not ready 😳 Love your content, you're amazing & a joy to watch 💞😻

I have two vintage Singer sewing machines; a 1950s 301 and a treadle ( which is from the 1940s. Is that possible? Everything I read on it says it was made in the 40's but did they still make treadles then?) The treadle was completely locked up. We WD40'd it and now it moves but the belt is too loose. The 301 needs new cords and a general tune-up. I would love to get them up and running.

I’m sorry the mosquitoes interrupted your cavorting, but your combinations are lovely! I also enjoyed Matt’s surprise cameo. :)

So annoying when you do things back to front! If it's any consolation I cut a pattern back to front..thankfully had enough fabric to cut another bit but grrrr! The singer sounds lovely! Are the undies comfortable??

I love the ruffles on the drawers so much! But excuse me, you totally interrupted Lucious when he had something to say! 😊 Good kitties! ❤️

What a lovely Singer your sister has! The combinations are beautiful! I felt really sorry for you that you had to unpick the drawers on the way home from your vacation.
Nice to see you are wearing a pair of Bernadettes. :)
