we really need samsung to gave os updates for 4 years as i think 4 years is the sweet spot and it would show they are serious about the environment by then i would say most of us are thinking of buying a new phone.

Foremost, note 8 is flagship while a71 is midrange. That alone says it all. Note 8 is one beast phone that outlived all succeeding models even with its same category. The camera remains one of the best. It may not have an ultrawide mode but cropping a long-shot photo does the trick without pictiure compromise.

im still usig my note 8 since 2017 and yet it can go head to head to a modern 2020 phone, note 8 is much better for the price

Note 8 rules. New battery after 2.5 years. Like brand new again. A71 is nice .

Note 8 is not as good as A71, partly due to the software. I flash OneUI 2.5 on my Note 8, it is much faster now. The one I always complain about was the frame drop while rotating the screen. OneUI 2.5 solved the issue on Note 8 too. The hardware is actually good. Not to forget that Exynos 8895 was capable to record 4K60 video but Snapdragon 835 cannot.

I think it's worth noting that the note 8 doesn't have One UI 3.1, since a lot of people like me care about the gesture navigation, it doesn't exist on the note 8, and that's the only thing I hate about my note 8

I own both.... I love both. My Note 8 developed screen burn. My current daily dialer is the A71 5G.... It's very smooth and no complaints here. Either phone... Except the screen burn on my Note 8. Worth replacing the LCD screen?
I just ordered a Note 20 5G...but no expansion slot...
I love my gadgets!! ❤️

I've had my note 8 since 2017, replaced screen 1 time. I still don't see the need to lease a newer phone for an extra $50 month when all I use it for is web and social net
