Taking your thyroid medication with coffee is a recipe for problems. Coffee stimulates the gastrointestinal tract which is great for digestion but very bad for thyroid medication absorption. IMO take med when I wake to use the head around 2:30am every night is a good time. I also take it sublingually.

This is why I take it at 5 am, I also have to take Phenobarbital in morning which is at 8:30 since my doses have to be 12 hours a part for taking it twice a day. So then I have coffee around 9:30 or 10 am

Right now taking levothyroxine 25.My question is, can I drink black coffee every day just one size I usually drink size small and no milk and sugar at all just plain black coffee.Is this good and am 22 years old my doctor gave me levothyroxine 25.Please answer simple doctor thank you .

I just took my first Synthroid this AM, woke up smiling and happy…2 hours later I am shaking, heart pounding and in bed in tears. I am Not taking this NO WAY…the one thing I didn’t have was palpitations JEEZ! I don’t trust my Dr sorry just don’t
