Installing PRS Locking Tuners and doing a setup on a Custom SE 24 electric guitar

The owner wanted me to install PRS locking tuners in his new 2022 Custom SE 24 and do a string change and setup. All went very smoothly, as it usually does with a PRS (Paul Reed Smith) guitar, and I am happy with the final product. Enjoy the video!

Great job. The only thing I noticed is that PRS recommends putting a piece of paper or cardboard under the bridge before removing the strings to prevent the bridge from making contact with the finish of the body. You may notice a mark on the finish when completing the re string.

Excellent choice, they keep the true authentic look of the PRS, and they they do help with the tuning stability (nut lube) or graphite makes them even more effective.

they are good, i went with Gotoh tulip button 381 mgt 04 . . wheel on back . . i guess they all work well . .one job, to hold string tight

@ManotickGuitarTech - I recently swapped for USA locking tuners (Vintage style) from the MD warehouse on my PRS McCarty 594 SE in Faded Blue. I have searched high and low for a video on it. I did install them successfully but the grommets that come with the USA PRS locking Vintage tuners are too large for the tuner drill holes, so I kept the original grommets in there. Let me know if that is ok, I wasn't about to drill the holes wider to accommodate the new grommets.

Tuners seem to work well enough but I still prefer the back locking Tuners using a thumb wheel, the tuner posts are lower and more low profile which I prefer.
Nice guitar though and a top job.

I noticed marking on the back of each tuner (9.A, 9.A, 9.D, 0.4, 0.1 and 0.1).
Is there a particular location where each tuner should be installed? All of the videos that I have watched does not mention this.

I recently purchased a couple of PRS CE 24's and wondered if those locking
tuners you just installed here will fit them?? Anything to get a bit more tuning
stability and accuracy ! Thanks :)

Do the locking tuners offer better tuning stability? My 245 standard goes flat after a couple of hours of playing, a problem I don't have with my Les Paul nor with my Floyd Rose equipped guitars. It drives me crazy, I love the 245 standard, it's so comfortable/smooth to play and resonant but man, does the tuning drive me nuts.
