I’m from Thailand and I don’t believe that the facial features can tell much. In my country, we can find variety of skin colors and facial features everywhere. It depends on their family’s background. And I think it could be the same in other countries in SEA and a very big country like China where many ethnic groups live together.

However, the styling can tell more, although not 100%.

i found it funny the second girl from the left said that chinese people have wider rounder faces and koreans have slimmer faces and then assumed the chinese girl’s picture had a lot of work done in korea?? there’s so many different ethnic minorities in china and even in the states where plastic surgery is less common per capita among asians i’ve noticed the opposite, koreans generally have wider/broad jawlines much like the korean guy on the right lol. i don’t think the whole slim jaw thing was really a beauty standard until korean culture became a fad and beauty standards become a standard because it’s not common, esp in korea

I really don’t get why nobody knows that Vietnam is more of an East Asian than South East Asian country. Yes, Vietnam is located in mainland South East Asia but that’s about it..

Korean and Japanese have a more distinct look. It’s impossible for me to guess them incorrectly. Occasionally I confuse Chinese with Vietnamese or Thailand with Vietnamese, but never Thailand with Chinese.

Absolutely fun to watch, this video! It's so refreshing to find content involving natives from their own respective language and culture; especially with trying to guess different types of asians. Speaking of learning, if anyone's interested in diving deeper into Thai, I've been using apps like Ling and Pocket Thai Master to expand my knowledge. They've been incredibly helpful in making learning accessible and fun. I'm also learning the Burmese language by using the same app - Ling as well since they also offer really compact Burmese lessons. Anyways, keep up the great work with these videos - Love from UK!

Chinese are very varied, but the quintessential Chinese you usually see have round faces, smaller eyes, sharp noses, very straight hair, they usually dress very extravagant, bold colours, makeup is also more bolder. Some of the most beautiful women I've seen are chinese.
I read an article that said that koreans have the biggest faces/skulls ig and they originate from yayoi people so they have rounder or square faces, strong jaws, smaller eyes and softer facial features. I usually also use hairstyle to tell them apart from Chinese, for men it's side part with little on forehead like the guy in video, for girls bangs or curtain bangs.
Japanese are a mix of yayoi, jomon and ainu so they look a little western with rounder doe eyes, tall nose bridge, more thicker, wavy or curly hair too and usually don't get braces or have snaggletooths. Girls can be very natural with minimal makeup to gyaru and kei type fully decked out. Guys have long hair or shaved heads and most likely to have facial hair and beards.
Thai people are very distinct, they have wider nostrils, flatter face, smaller eyes, boys have strong jaws, girls have typical makeup and hair style, healthy tan skin, peachy makeup and sleek pulled back hair.
Vietnamese have sharper features, sweetheart face shapes, prominent cheekbones, flat bridge but button noses, girls are delicate looking with bolder western makeup looks and mostly without bangs. Chinese and Vietnamese is the most confusing btw each other

Good video except for the fact that the white woman has some negative opinions on Chinese people. Like how she assumed the Chinese lady had work done in Korea. She’s also wrong about Chinese people having a wider face, they probably have the slimmest face compared to other East Asians. Especially none coastal Chinese…those people are closer to Tibetans genetically and they have slim faces
