The recent India-China handshake at BRICS has sparked anticipation for talks between Prime Minister Modi and China's President Xi Jinping. This follows a pact on patrolling arrangements along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. China has responded positively, affirming its commitment to work with India to implement the truce. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi emphasised the importance of returning to the April 2020 status quo along the LAC, disengagement, and rebuilding trust. This marks a significant breakthrough after four years of tension in the region.

China has a very clear stance, which India must realise and accept if they want to come out of isolation in the region, and that is to hand over Eastern Ladakh, Galwan, and Hamachal to China.

China is doing timepass. Because of this summit only he has agreed to move military. After one month you will see whether I am right or wrong. He is the brother of Pakistan, who is also doing the same things.

The Chinese have a clear strategy of maintaining the status quo on the borders with India. China has sorted out their border disputes with all its neighbours except Bhutan and India and this is not by chance but a well thought strategy as China is aware that to become a global power it needs to first become an Asian power which will lead to direct confrontation with India because china understands that India considers itself a regional power that includes south Asia, Indian Ocean and via quad the indo pacific. Intermittent border disputes with India and Bhutan ( India is responsible for Bhutan's security as wants Bhutan to remain a buffer state ) are mere tactics to keep India busy and occupied so that China can concentrate on progressing their long-term initiatives in the South China Sea and India Ocean which presently requires more attention than dealing with India which can wait. China has no real intentions of sorting out the border with India and will use this as a bargaining tool, like the present thaw in border issues just before the BRIX summit paving the way for an Indo-China bilateral because China is desperate for the Indian market to open up basis the present geo-political situation with the west and the present state of their economy. India should be cognizant of the fact that China remains their main adversary and will always look for opportunities to keep India pinned down. Believe present-day India is not as gullible as Nehruvian India and will continue strengthening their relationship with the USA & the west and will continue to play an active role in the QUAD.
