THANKS for the Video.
My dad used to pinch off the Sucker Limbs. That made the Trunk of the plant Stronger & TALLER. He used Chicken Droppings (shit) for the Fertilizer. Hay around the base of the plant, to hold in moisture from watering around at the base.
The BIG BOY Tomatoes grew up to 7' tall. The tomatoes were as large as your fist.
GOOD LUCK to you all in the FUTURE. 😀😋😋😋🤗

Great video. I'm trying to grow small tomatoes but not cherries. The reason is that it's hard to grow big when I'm in a
wheelchair. I have grown tall tomatoes, never as big as yours, but I enjoyed to see how to grow them. Loved and Subbed.

Great video. I'm very excited to try this. How do I know if I have indeterminate variety of tomatoes? We love heirloom tomatoes. Is that a variety that work for a giant?

What an interesting video! I'm always interested in different approaching to gardening although I must admit I'm cheap and lazy. I may just try growing a "giant" tomato plant but for now, I'll stick with my compost and water approach. Coincidentally, I grow in 4 foot square beds but in the same-sized bed required to grow the giant tomato, I'm growing 4 tomato plants and 12 pepper plants. Kinda the opposite approach. Cheers

Thanks for making the video. You have many good ideas here. I like the wall-o-water. I use similar concrete reinforcement mesh (using 19 vertical wires to allow for 18 shoots) for support, however, I train the vines to the outside of the cage to allow air space in the center, room for birds to enter the cage for possible pest removal, and more space between the vines for sucker removal and less inter-vine competition. Your soil prep is good, nice and deep, but I prefer not giving limitations, i.e. boards around the plants. My experience with placing plants deeper than their original depth in their pot or placing them sideways is unnecessary because the roots will expand on their own, traveling up to ten feet from the base of the plant. Also, placing the plant sideways causes the leaves to potentially make contact with the soil, which contains leaf blight diseases. Do you place straw or some other mulch around your plants? I had a Better Boy plant in 2016 get 125 lbs of fruit. It was a personal record. Charles Wilber got 342 lbs, to set a record, but he built scaffolding around his. I am not that committed. :-)

Jos Zamzow, I live in Myrtle Beach SC. Very hot summers and not sure which variety of tomatoes to grow. Any suggestions and by the way great video as I am a newbie to the vegetable growing world. I currently raise Microgreens, next hydroponic lettuce and greens and then your system of giant tomatoes in spring. Any suggestions or reading material is helpful. THanks Jos

can you give me advice on how not to OVER or UNDER water my tomato plants? I have 8 plants in a raised bed and also in pots around my home.. They always begin to grow the first month or so very healthy then they get leggy and sickly looking.. I do get tomatoes but not like I should be getting.. Thank you Joe

I had an 18 footer last year in Pennsylvania. I grew it in a 3 foot wide raised bed along side a 16 footer and 10 bell peppers plants. peppers. It was an heirloom Beefsteak I have been using for several years. HUGE tomatoes also. One in particular took two hands to hold. I just grow in compost I make all year. All my neighbors chip in for my pile so i share tomatoes.

Also - I planted several plants in our boxes (nit worrying about being giant plants, I just want fruit! In any event, plants were in the ground by May24 weekend (up here in Canada), given fertilizer (miracle-gro) and to date (almost mid August), we still do not have any tomatoes starting on the plants. What did I do wrong?

Why did you place the cage around the plant before putting the Wall of Water in place, putting your stakes in place, and then watering the Wall, putting additional stakes in to open the top of the Wall? It looks like you had difficult reaching through the cage's openings. Put the cage in after you do your thing with the Wall of Wter and all it's stakes.

Awesome info, could you please give the dimensions for the cage? You said 8 feet high, how long of a piece do you cut to make that circle? Thank you.

I already have about 30 cages made with reinforcement wire. They are 2ft wide but mine are only 5 i have double stacked them before. I would be happy if the plants got big enough to triple stack the cages.
