There's nothing wrong with suckering and it's great if you are growing INDETERMINATE tomato plants up stakes. You mentioned that suckers take energy from the plant and at 1:41 that is actually a leaf which will only contribute to the plant's photosynthesis. As you said, suckers will actually develop into their own stem with leaves and flowers, increasing overall tomato yield per plant. In my garden, I employ a combination of methods - pruning, modified pruning, and not pruning - and get great results from each method. The thing is, you can get big tomatoes from not pruning at all - I've seen it! This is a good video and I'm impressed that you mentioned pruning to multiple leaders. A lot of gardeners think it's all or nothing (all suckers are pinched, or none are pinched) which is not true.
