Schliterbahn waterparks in Kansas City, posted news of the permanent shut down and removal of Verruckt, on its Facebook page.
Standing at over 168 feet tall, Verruckt was promoted as the world's tallest water slide.
The park says "the safety of its staff and guests are its top priority and getting rid of the slide is the only proper course of action following the tragedy."
Investigators are still working to determine what caused Caleb Schwab's fatal neck injury as he rode the waterslide.

He wasn't wearing his safety harness, right? So if I go to Disney world with an army of refugee children and tell them not to wear seat belts I can close down the whole park?

They don't need to destroy the ride all they need to do is improve safety precautions and anyway people will forget about the incident in a few years.

I don't think they should have shut it down it was one incident... Disney had death in their park but no one talks about it
