If you are going to do a comparison, make sure you comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. You compared Skyscanner’s DIRECT flights to the competitor’s flights WITH LAYOVERS - of course that would be cheaper.

The biggest issue I have with this review is that some people do want to fly DIRECT. You compared Skyscanner's DIRECT flights with Kayak's and Momondo's flights with 11 HOURS LAYOVER flights, meaning flights with STOPS. That's not a fair comparison.

Tip 1
Try to find flights for your destination through another countries, NOT nearby airports..

Tip 2
You can find better prices 34 days prior departure than booking six months in advance.

I usually look at Kayak for flights but Google has a cool flight comparison function too. You can be as broad as Europe in your search if you just want to see what will be the cheapest place to travel and they use maps and graphs to organize everything. It's really fun to play with.

Norwegian has some really cheap flights to usa and bangkok. But keep in mind that you need to pay a fee for your luggage (if you need it) They also charge for food and seat reservation. My tip is to just book the flight wiith the luggage fee. Bring your own food. And go to the airport a little early and check in on the self check in to reserve a perfect seat for free :)

I booked a flight a few weeks ago from Pittsburgh to London, $550/£351. It was one of the cheapest I found, so even though I'm sure people have flown for way cheaper I'm just happy that I'm finally committed to traveling.

I used Kayak then went to the site of the actual airline so that if I have to cancel my flight/ one leg of my flight is canceled I won't be shit out of luck (you have to look closely at the terms when buying off the actual Kayak site.)

I don't know about International flights but, for domestic ones Kayak lists airlines with hidden policies to price match if someone gets a better deal than you after you book. American Airlines will give a voucher up to $300 for such price changes so just use Kayak to find the flight that fits your schedule track it buy it and if the price goes down they will voucher you for the difference. No other site makes such guarantees.

I recently found a flight from Calgary, Canada into Glasgow for 170 pounds! My visa ends soon and ill head back so as long as I don't mind the megabus journey for a tenner that'll take me south this is such a win!

Try Vayama. It's the main program travel agents use and has a lot more of the smaller airlines that are usually cheaper than the big name ones.

I recently went to Hawaii from Australia, somewhere I'd probably never be able to go if I had to go from the UK, good old Jetstar sale!

Lol "For the love of God why aren't you Americans going to London?!" made me laugh. I booked my flight from San Francisco to Oslo for $207 departing in September! I'm planning to wander around Europe for ~3 months. love your videos! Super informative and helpful.

$356 roundtrip from Los Angeles to Oslo. Originally looking to fly into London but by flying to Oslo for a quick visit, I can save over $500. So why not.
