Sonic 2 Beta Title Screen Lost Animation

The title screen featured in the old Sonic 2 betas isn't animated unlike the later final version which changes Sonic and Tails designs.
However since it was a late change in Sonic 2's development *since alot of Betas have the old title screen and even the Game Gear Version used it as a basis* in a Japanese commercial for Sonic 2 you can see how it was meant to be animated, Sonic giving a thumbs up and a wink.

It seemed awfully familiar, then it dawned on me that this is the one used in the game gear version

This was Actually Sonic 2-day when sonic two was about to release game stores we’re getting ready for the celebration

The special stage palette also seems like the beta palette

0:12 when you pause when tails jumps in it looks like weird tails and bigger than sonic

There was a commercial for Sonic 2 where it literally shows the Beta title screen

NO, This isn't lost, for one thing the commercial can be found in the Sega Saturn game "Sonic Jam" and on Youtube now a days.

Possibly the animation was never completed or was never even stared and then they changed to the final title

Yeah, Sonic 2 8-bit has the beta logo of Sonic 2 Genesis, but most likely different.
