The Sony Xperia 1 V Sucks...?!

There are a lot people that think the Sony Xperia 1 V sucks, but that is far from the truth. The Xperia 1 V is a fantastic phone, and it's my favorite phone of 2023 so far.

God, looking at it now having used several android phones, the Sony phones feel like they're built just for me 😂. Tall aspect ratio, good battery, headphones jack, sd card slot, no gimmicks for the cameras, 4k screen at 120hz. Maybe if theyre still making good phones like this when the 1 VII or the 5 VII come out I'll switch

I sold my Galaxy S23 Ultra and purchased last year's Xperia 5 IV. I just couldn't get past how heavy and wide it was. It seems like Apple and Samsung don't really care about ergonomics and how a phone feels while using it when it comes to their flagship phones.

Sony phones always get hate. I've always loved Sony's designs but was put off from reading negative reviews. I finally purchased one in 2016 and have never had the issues people described; same as Pixels never had the "common" issues people experience. I've taken beautiful photos over the years with Xperias, truth is they don't hold your hand you need some basic knowledge about photography in order to get some great photos.

To be honest, I think the Sony Xperia could be the best phone overall. I think it's a true flagship at 100 percent. It's what true flagships use to be from having a headphone jack, sd card slot, premium build and much more. Yes, the price is steep but I don't know any flagships that has everything that you need and more. Not only that, the phone is pretty much stock android and stock android have the best experience

One of things I love the most bout my Xperia mk IV is how narrow it is... It takes a bit to get used to, but I love how it can actually be handled with one hand. I do use headphone jack a lot and obviously cameras... Have taken some of the best Aurora Borealis shots on my phone... Love Sony, love that it is not a mainstream phone. And getting sd card in and out without any tools is so nice to have...

Youre the person who is making me want to upgrade from the III 😂 i want to get the a7 IV camera as well and use this for the monitor. People dont realize how incredible this phone is

I like sony phones, I am currently using the xperia pro i, but as you said; in the current economy people want to buy and hold their phones for 4 or 5 years, and what sucks about Sony is that they only provide 2 year software support for their phones.

On the bright side their phones stay as fast after 4 years of usage as they were on day 1, but once they start getting problems it's difficult to find a service center to fix them. I tried in Egypt and in Northern Ireland, no support whatsoever.

Planning to replace my Note9 with one of these. I wanted the Note when I got it because I really wanted to S-Pen functionality. I haven't taken it out of the phone in like a year and a half. Now that I have a toddler, and am getting into some more creative endeavors I like sharing on social media, the camera is very appealing. I'm also kind of an audio snob, so the headphone jack is important to me as well (plus my car has aux but not bluetooth).

Would love to own it, but could never justify owning a cell phone that costs over $1000. Heck I barely justify spending $500 on a cell phone. Just too many other gadgets I would prefer to spend the $$ on. Still glad you are enjoying it and glad Sony seems to have gotten this one right!

In my opinion Xperia 1 mark V this year is better than S23 ultra.
