Bear with me here, as I go on an absolute rant about the state of Sea Doo. Let me know if I'm wrong. Let me know if I'm right. Let me know if the general public is feeling the squeeze of the economy. #seadoo #yamaha #pwc #watercraft #jetski

Wanna know what's stopping me and all my buddies from buying new rxps this year? The vomit tan color that they thought was a good idea lol. They need to fire whoever came up with that idea.

I agree with some of your takes.
1) Yes the latest line up caters more towards those who have established careers and retirees. But also remember, Florida is the mecca of all boat and PWC sales. Florida is also where people have money and retirees.
2) I agree Yamaha saw the spark sales and wanted to jump into that demographic, but like you mentioned I believe they priced themselves out of that entry level demographic because they are not the cheapest option for entry level jetskies.
3) I think you're ignoring the GTI model. It's that in-between choice from entry level to the fish scout. You can use it for fun and for fishing.
4) The GTX Limited now feels like an actual prestige model and the colours are not bad.
5) The switch Fish looks great (we knew this was eventually coming) and is still a cheaper choice then a small fishing boat and the colour isn't bad. Camo green always looks good on a fishing boat. I think the switch fish comes at the lowest length of 18 because you need room to cast and store the trolling motor as well have room away from the Bimini.
6) I believe the new spark lineup will be next year or the year after because they just announced the new look of the spark for 2024 and wanted to focus on the other models.

All in all the reveals are targeted to the growing fishing sector and it's just another option to their fishing lineup. And as we know, with great fishing features comes great fishing costs. The GTX was suppose to be the new fun on the water entry and I think we'll see the new spark(s) lineup in the next year or 2. There's no hurry simply because the spark still outsells everything out there...but now it will have competition from Yamaha which will force Seadoo now to compete more heavily in the rec lite market.

I just "bought" myself a 24 jet blaster after having my first ski a 98 seadoo XP limited(130hp 2 stroke 🥴). One of the funnest things I've ever bought. Unfortunately with the age the reliability was very questionable on the water so I ended up getting the blaster closest thing I can get that was still all fiberglass hoping it lasts for many years. I think they're going bigger with skis because of the emissions regulations just like on regular cars. Cars used to be so small back then now. small cars now are big cars back then

I think you're 100% right. NO ONE is paying cash for JetSki's. Everyone is financing, especially the people who make under $100K a year. Lot's of 2023 and 2024 models still sitting on the floor at my local dealer

Any feedback on the new Sea Doo Touchscreens in relation to working with wet fingers and impact of sun damage?

I’m right there with you man. These things are unaffordable. It doesn’t help that the dealers stick an extra $600-$1500 as a prep fee. It takes one guy a few minutes to put these things together. They’re not building them if it took two people all day it’s still wouldn’t come up to $600 on the low end and definitely not $1500 on the high end I called a dealer about a ski a few weeks ago and they had $2500 in prep fee destination charges and dealer fees. No thanks!

So my question as a prospective first-time PWC buyer is: does the 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster Pro merit the $2, 000 price premium over the Sea Doo Spark Trixx? That's a pretty good chunk of change. What are you getting for that money? Fiberglass hull. More power (canceled out by more weight). Nicer LCD display. Anything else?

I do wish the Pro came in the colorway of the DLX. Love that red/white/blue combo. Love the aqua color on the Pro hull but I'm not super hot on the pale yellow top deck. Even in the Eighties I would have said no thanks to that. Wish they offered two color options.

Also that new beige (mud, sand, clay, bandaid) + blue on the 2025 Trixx is an abomination. What's next, Realtree Camo?

Another Canadian here and prices up here are even worse. Instead of buying a 15k new Sea Doo GTI (really 20, 000ish after buying a trailer, taxes and the other charges up here). I'm rebuilding/restoring my 96 GTX for less than a quarter of the price. Makes no sense financially for me to buy new.

No way I’m paying that much for a jet ski. I have a 2017 Yamaha VX that I bought in 2019 with 23 hours on it. cost me 10k cash including the triton trailer.

I am millennial/ gen z. Bought a 2019 RXTX 300 from a friend for 8700 bucks cash money. Had to replace an oil cooler but other than that it’s given me close to 100 hours of run time this season. Roughly 430 hours on the dash and I plan to run it until it blows up, and rebuild the engine. For me, used skis are the way to go to get bang for buck but I understand not everyone can work on them themselves.

I used to have a 2022 spark tricks to up loved it to death but I traded it in on a Yamaha GP 1800 Sea-Doo needs to make that at least 125 horsepower

a 27k switch compact fish would have been ideal. 45k entry price is killing an entire segment that would have been interested. The tiny boat crowd kills the market for the Apex.

Unfortunately when everything in price is through the roof. Sea doo isn't ganna sell for less than the rest of the market

I mean these products are forecasted and designed for release years in advanced. This 2025 release was forecasted during the time of plenty. BRP already announced layoffs for their Switch factory due to a softening sales.

I dont think its a disaster, but I was definitely much less excited about this years release announcement than I was about the past couple years. At least Kawasaki is still teasing something for the stand up market, because all 3 brands so far haven't dont much for me at all. Oh and whoever decided to not keep the red colors for RXPX and RXTX should be fired. The bronze and red is okay; I havent seen it in person, but man that red is AMAZING.

1%ers aren't gonna touch this stuff? Hell, they've all got two or three of these things they use for toys on their yachts. 🤔

One thing i noticed too was the apex was going to be a limited edition and they are only going to make so many of them.

The Spark can be flashed to 120 hp, do a bit more to the engine and there is plenty more to go.
