I am a naturopathic herbalist in Australia. Recently I converted our dining room into an Apothecary where I store over 100 herbs, kombucha, kefir, sourdough starter, kvass, glycerites, extracts, sauerkraut, mushrooms, sprouts and other things I am tinkering around with. We pulled most of the plants out of our garden and gave them away then planted over 45 herbs we commonly use to save on money. Much respect to you ❤❤
My favourites are Damiana, Willow Bark, Ashwagandha, Turmeric and Icelandic Moss.

My day job is as a cancer researcher. There is absolutely a time and place for highly targeted medical therapies. But equally there’s a lot of preventative medicine in herbal remedies and essentially the science I do today grew out of the study of the natural world going back a few hundred years.

As a Mexican, I love that you learned about herbal medicine in Mexico and wanted to recreate that in your home <3

Acetylsalicylic acid was originally distilled from willow bark, that’s how they first started producing aspirin. They discovered the compound in willow bark that was the anti inflammatory and fever reducer and turned into a powder form, and then the apothecaries and doctors would put the powdered Acetylsalicylic acid into teas.

I am an herbalist, and your apothecary is so beautiful. I have hundreds of herbs in my kitchen too, but yours is a lot more organized than mine, LOL! This inspires me to get everything organized for the new year! One piece of advice is to store herbs in the dark as light may degrade them quicker.

I am proud of you for learning about herbs/plants for their medicinal properties. My people believe, the plants that grow each season are the plants we will need for medicine for that season. Twice I was prescribed manmade medicine and each time I had a serious reaction so I rely on holistic remedies, have a huge herb garden, and dry, freeze, store the herbs to have on hand when I need them. Fortunately I am healthy, but I use all my herbs, and share them, throughout the year.

I would avoid putting dried herbs in a cabinet with glass doors as sunlight degrades basically everything, so to keep as much goodness in them you want them in the dark as much as possible.

My grandpa was a witch doctor/shaman from Laos and used a lot of herbs to heal us up until he passed. I should’ve been more curious and asked him about this specific thing he would do and what was in it; whenever we were sick, he would grab some herbs and pray over an ancestral altar, then chew it and rub it on our bellies and we would literally heal next morning. My siblings and I all have the same memory

"Somewhere in the world exists a plant that is the cure" Moses is responsible for those words directly from Genisis in the bible. "Fruit is for food and leaves are for healing", meaning that somewhere there is a leaf for every condition. Steiner, obviously Jewish was quoting Moses as many people do.

After leaving America to my quaint little European village in the sun, I started my garden and built an apothecary in 2023. It continues to grow as I learn about herbs, spices, fruits, oils, etc. that work to prevent and help to heal ailments. Best thing I've ever done and will never rely on pharma or modern doctors and their toxins. Everything I consume is locally sourced, which makes a huge difference to my health and wellness. Thank you for this video, I look forward to taking notes!

You look so much like my father when he was young. He passed 2.5 years ago. He was such a gentle soul. So humbled and giving. I miss him so much.

Loved your video! Thank you!I’m an herbalist and wild-crafter here in the mountains of Montana for 40 years. So many herbs and wildflowers and trees like Elderberry and Hawthorne grow wild all over here in the Rocky Mountains and the beautiful valleys.I have so many on my land and in my yard and gardens as well. Yarrow and Mullen are plentiful in the wild as well as Nettles, wild Valerian, and red clover and white willow following the creeks along in the valleys. —PS: Love your kitchen!❤

I recently started an herb garden. It is so rewarding to grow your own medicine, especially as you age, because doctors love to prescribe over the counter medication to the elderly. I'm 71, and I'm refusing the medication. Doing my own research and studying. Thanks for sharing❤

I would STRONGLY recommend comfrey. It was previously called bone mend as it heals broken bone. It is so healing in so many ways including healing large wounds without stitches. I wouldn’t be without it. Great for healing after surgery as well. It grows so well it’s hard to kill …..just a piece of root will create a bush🦋I know this from personal experience.
