I think this mainly applies to if only one person is home all day with no help. I remember having day naps when i had my first baby. No chance with the other three though :D

I think most people assume babies keep their parents up all night and only sleep in their cribs/bassinets.

Honestly as a mum it's the best way my baby is 5 months and I still go to sleep when he sleeps because otherwise I'm constantly tired, then I have more energy for when he is awake 🙂

People mean when you're at home in the baby's asleep don't worry about doing housework don't worry about taking a shower right then if you're tired then sleep when the baby's asleep. It just helps prevent any accidents. The average couple that's trying to navigate Parenthood don't understand that you need to prioritize your sleep before anything else❤

Exactly 😭 Plus there's always other serious business to attend to! Like you haven't showered in days cuz the baby never lets you and you can't do it with him in there cuz he won't let you put him down and he's so slippery when wet and how are you gonna wash yourself while holding a human being? So you wanna shower when they finally nap but oh now you're covered in soap and he's screaming and the other mama is running to the store or otherwise incapacitated

I've learned a lot about what parents have to go thru from my sister's kids. They are damn near impossible to lay to bed when you want em to sleep, they'll be trying to run around til 2 am

I was just thinking about this the other day. People telling me this every time I had a baby. I have FOUR kids. How are you telling me to sleep when the baby sleeps when I have three toddlers running around the house unsupervised?! 😂
