This comment section doesnt understand that Shart was objecting to the decision because it was wildly cruel and impractical. All the companions literally said the same thing but when Shart shows that she has enough braincells to not kill helpful people just cuz she has beef with Selunites, she gets flack lol.

I noticed that when you let Shadowheart kill the nightsong you will get approval from Laezel, but later in the camp she tells you that it was stupid decision and loss of a potential ally. Like?? wtf

I let her give my team the buff and then betrayed her to Markus, he took her and got away before Jaheira could realize I was in on it so I still got her as a companion and my companions didn't care about the last light getting decimated. Then she's with her father when you fight him so you can kill her and get her loot then. To quote Dexter, "I'm a very neat monster".

Y'all hating on Shadowheart's reaction without understanding her character. She follows Shar but she doesn't fully approves into commiting full on violence. Thats why one of the ways you can have her approval is using persuasion/deception to avoid fights and stuff. It also can be seen with if you went on the Goblin Party (if you went killing the Grove) route. She only approved of that action because of her Dark Lady, but if you talk to her and peer into her mind, she deep inside feels guilty of it. Even if Shart follows Shar, she still has compassion inside of her, that's what made her have a redemption arc with the Nightsong.

"But she tried to kill Lae'zel!!" Blame it on Shar, not Shart. Her first objective in the game is literally to retrieve an artifact that was stolen from the githyankee, thats why they were indoctrinated to avoid/kill them as possible.

Its like ppl hating on Gale or Lae'zel all over again, like geez almost every companion in the game has trauma to have them act like the way they act. Even Minthara being an exclusive evil companion, she has a redemption arc where she just fully neglects the way of the Absolute.

I attacked jaheira cuz she trapped my durge with vines and she didnt like that :( that resulted in me killing everyone there lmao i had no idea what was happening or the repercussions but my party was like eh ok

I think the anger directed towards Shadowheart in this situation is slightly unfair. Yes, she worships Shar (because of factors outside of her control) but she’s proven repeatedly that she isn’t radically violent towards Selunites. Hell, she potentially falls in love with a Selunite if you playthrough allows it. She is not to blame for Shar’s actions and, it bears repeating, she has little to no actual autonomy in her worship towards Shar, it is as natural to her as breathing. She is a good person who has been indoctrinated, she has every right to be angry with Tav if they choose this route.

Regarding the ‘she does the same thing if she kills Nightsong’ argument, I understand why people have a problem with this, but the context matters. If Shadowheart does indeed cause this to happen, it’s a side effect of a separate decision which, in her manipulated mind, is a necessary evil, and one that she likely doesn’t consider in the heat of the moment. She has spent her whole life (that she can remember) being pushed towards being a Dark Justiciar to the point where it is vital to her and sadly lacks any real autonomy in making that choice. In this scenario, Tav slaughters Last Light on a whim, out of pure evil malice. She is within her rights to be angry about that too.

Shadowheart in Acts 1 and 2 isn’t always the real her, and I feel like people forget that when looking at her character. The ‘bad’ parts are from years of indoctrination and literal brainwashing, the ‘good’ parts are us seeing the character, the person, for what she truly is, deep beneath Shar’s influence.
