Ann, girl same.

Small business owner with my spouse, and the first couple of years were hell. Lots of worries about money, bills, and horrible work life balance. I worked multiple jobs before we both worked for our company full time.

When we weren’t making much money, we made decisions out of desperation, like not taking on good clients and working insane hours. It may feel bad to slow down and take a step back, but looking at your work load from a birds eyes point of view may help in the long run.

I’m not sure what kind of work you do but joining networking groups may help. It gets you out of the house, away from a screen but you’re still “working”. Worst case scenario you get to meet some new people and let loose, best case scenario potential income! Working for yourself can be lonely, which can make you feel isolated and more depressed.

In terms of finances, running numbers makes me feel better (even if the numbers suck). I like to put my finances in a spreadsheet and have chat gpt come up with plans to pay off stuff faster. Sometimes knowing you have options can feel good. That and having clear cut goals on work income is good. If you reach a small goal you may not feel so guilty taking a break. Something I tell my partner is the work isn’t going anywhere!
