Gachagua Impeachment Case: Heated arguments as judges hear recusal application

The three-judge bench hearing cases challenging the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President is tomorrow expected to make a ruling on whether to grant or dismiss an application by Gachagua to have the judges disqualify themselves from hearing the matter. Gachagua’s lawyers claim the 3 judges are biased and have conflict of interest in the case, linking one of them to President William Ruto, another said to be a friend of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi and Deputy President Nominee Kithure Kindiki.
