I hold a Canadian passport, been outside the country for 14 years. Made the mistake of going there last year. Unemployed for an entire year, losing 43, 000 dollars to living expenses over a year. Moved to Vietnam to teach English. Vowed never to see Canada again

As an American who's lived in Vietnam for the past 5 years I'm not surprised there are no Southeast Asian countries on the regret list. SE Asia is awesome and I've never been happier anywhere else.

Lets face it, the whole world is a horrible place to live unless you are mega rich. In this life, money talks.

You missed Australia where it is impossible to buy a house and live on two wages per family.

Stay home, roll up your sleeves and build back your country and make it a paradise or at least the best place you would spend your life in instead of constantly dreaming of a better life somewhere else which often times is just that: a dream

As a Canadian I have been so saddened by the decline of this great country mostly due to the uncontrolled actions of one individual who used his position as the Prime Minister to implement his own agendas of flawed and detrimental policies based upon an irrational mindset of wokeness.

I moved to Thailand in 2012 and never regretted it. It was the choice between Brazil and Thailand. I chose the latter because of my wife, but also because in Brazil there was and is too much crime. Language no problem, I can speak Portuguese. Japan was another option, but my character is not suitable for that country. And now after 12 years I'm learning Thai, to me one of the most difficult languages I ever learned. But it is rewarding. Thai people are always so nice whenever I try to speak their language.

One thing that nobody will tell you before you move to the UK - the state pension does not cover even basic rental costs and you won't get any extra help from the Government.
You must pay National Insurance for 33 years in the UK to qualify for a full state pension. The full state pension is currently £14, 000 per year for a couple.
Renting in the UK can cost £1500 per month - or more.
Unless you have purchased a property outright before retirement, you will struggle to have enough to live on in old age.

Canada's mission is to be the most highly taxed society yet you can't get to see a doctor and can die in the ER waiting. I was there on a contract and I noticed blatant discrimination at the workplaces I visited, bitter locals making jokes about minorities with me (they thought I would go along since I'm European), low disposable income on average, preventing savings, unstable employment, weak economy, nepotism, extreme weather, lies about everything, lawsuits for those who can afford, on and on. I ended my contract there prematurely and went elsewhere. Canada should be #1 in this list!

Canada is more expensive than you suggested. Also the crime is rising and gun violence is becoming more like the United States. Jobs are harder to get and the wages don't reflect the rising cost of living

😂😂😂😂. If any one has travelled outside your own community, you realize that everyone is different. If and when you move, take it as an opportunity to grow, learn traditions, culture, language. Be reborn, what a gift.😮. Enjoy the challenges, live life. DO NOT expect people to adapt to you, you adapt to new surrounding.

You are very right about Canada! After living there for 8 hellish years — bitter cold, unfriendly people, high unemployment and prices — we fled to the USA. Plus we encountered so so much racism there!!

The only thing I can say before you move to another country go there and test it out first for 4 months.

Damn, I'm from Canada, 1 hr from Toronto and your 100% correct. Except I think you were light on the costs.
Rent, specifically add 500 to 1000 a month, food more, bills more.
Infact your prices might have been accurate b4 2018..
This Canadian is seeking a relocation himself.
