One of my faves; I've always described nopales, like this, "tastes like lemon grass if it grew similar to peppers with a little more 'chewy' to it than crunchier greens, " oh, and it's also really great in pico recipes!🤙

In my house we marinade the cactus leaves with olive oil, red wine vinegar, herbs, s&p before pan frying them like that. They come out amazing, great for fiber too.

I got a big-ass plate of tacos at one of the local authentic jonts what be packed with workers every time you pass by and they gave me some of this as a courtesy and boy oh boy is it good eating. It’s got such an appealing texture like a fresh veggie crunch/snap *and* a meaty toothsomeness which I thought added *a lot* to the tacos considering how the meat is so tender.
